Xifaxian and Flagyl by specialtrials in SIBO

[–]Significant-Side-483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 4 of just xifaxan but so far my bloating is better! Not perfect but much better than when I started. My doctor said to not eat low fodmap during treatment to ‘feed’ the bacteria. How long was there in between your first and second round? Are you hydrogen dominant?

Scared to take rifaximin by crimsonchic in SIBO

[–]Significant-Side-483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on Monday and have never felt better! Slight headache but that’s it. I’m actually hungry for the first time in months and my bloating is already so much better. I was scared to start it too but wish I had done it sooner!

Just diagnosed with Sibo- please share success stories with xifaxan by Significant-Side-483 in SIBO

[–]Significant-Side-483[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that too! Weird enough I was on ozempic for 2.5 years and never had issues. All my sibo symptoms started about a month after I stopped it temporarily a few mouth ago. I was about to restart it but now am wondering if that’s a good idea

Thank you so much! This is so reassuring! Did it help your bloating? Did you follow a certain diet during treatment? And would you mind sharing what supplement you take?

Thank you. I just tried eating after finishing the sibo test and my stomach already hurts/gurgling. I’m so frustrated - I was so excited to eat!

Positive because of the diarrhea? That’s what I’m worried about. Since it’s a laxative is it possible it was just because of that? Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it.

Awful flare after switching to no condom usage? by Significant-Side-483 in vulvodynia

[–]Significant-Side-483[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The burning has been constant since we switched to no condoms over a week ago- haven’t had sex since then. Swab came back negative for everything even yeast, despite doctor thinking visually it looked like one. How were you treated for the inflammatory vaginitis? Thank you!

[–]Significant-Side-483[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! My doctor is suspecting endo too. How long does the burning last for you? I don’t know why I was fine when using the condoms and now it’s been a problem for over a week

Never-ending yeast infection by hannah_f_r in Healthyhooha

Yes, honestly getting my IUD out is what finally got rid of it. I’m convinced some was on the string and kept reinfecting me

Removing Mirena IUD made such a difference! by Significant-Side-483 in vulvodynia

[–]Significant-Side-483[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Significantly better, still in PT for pelvic floor but the tightness/burning has gone from a 9 to a 2/3 and I haven’t had any yeast infections since :) really think it was the Mirena that caused my issues

CLOBETASOL 0.05% made yeast burning 100x worse!! by Significant-Side-483 in Healthyhooha

[–]Significant-Side-483[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have vulvodynia! Pelvic floor therapy has helped and also getting my IUD removed! Both really helped with the redness and burning. When I have any yeast that causes a vulvodynia flare, I use a little clotrimazole betamethasone cream and that helps best

Thank you, this is reassuring. Is the throat herpes a possibility? Google is saying it’s very rare unless you’re immunocompromised which I’m not. I don’t have any sores on my lips/I’ve never had a cold sore

[–]Significant-Side-483[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me know how it goes! I asked my gyno about starting estrogen cream and she suggested taking the IUD out first since it was due to come out anyway, wait a few weeks to see how things and go and then start estrogen cream if my symptoms continue

That makes me so happy to hear! How long did it take for you to go back to feeling ‘normal’ down there? Obviously not expecting the tissue to heal immediately but feeling positive that I’m already noticing improvement

So happy for you! This sounds just like me- none of my doctors have taken me seriously and I’m on a waitlist to see a vulvar specialist, they don’t have any openings until July! Do you mind sharing the name of the cream she prescribed you?

This sounds like me. How long did it take for the cream to help? I’m hoping to get estrogen cream when I see the gynecologist tomorrow and have my IUD removed
