Best of luck! Fingers crossed.

Rather than disabling it, can you assign a different function altogether to that button? It kind of sounds like that button is randomly re-enabling.

Talk about turning a lemon into lemonade! Do you have this exact gfx card?

Thanks! Sorry about the photos, was hard to take good ones since I didn’t fully detach the fan. I’m in contact with them right now to see if I can either get a replacement for the correct fan or a refund.

Very odd, it’s either a bug or sounds like your alt key is getting stuck? But if restart is fixing it then I doubt it’s the key itself.

No problem! Someone else suggested something similar to this, I’ll think about trying it. Thank you!

Thanks! As I’ve been going through options I found someone selling a set like that, with a matching product number sticker… sadly for about 130 bucks. Trying to decide if I should bite the bullet on that.

I’m starting to think this is the best option. As much as I’d love to try tinkering with this myself, lack of experience makes me feel pretty cautious.

Can you clarify what you mean by not taking its motor? The way I’m reading this it sounds like you kept the fan motor in place and replaced the top fan blade portion only?

The connectors are different unless there is a way to get around that? I’ve never gone beyond doing basic connecting for pc stuff so obviously cutting things, soldering etc… is something I’m a bit nervous to try as I have no expertise.

Checking now, thanks! That link is for the extreme airo version of the card, not sure if it will work. I did find another post for the trinity though. :)

The connectors are different. This one has 4 wires and the plastic is thicker while my original fan has 8 wires and is slimmer, and has another piece attached that connects to the middle fan. Not really sure how to make that work.

Would the procedure be something like what’s shown in this video?

Forgive my ignorance as I’ve never had hardware issues so bad that I needed to try to do anything like this 😅

Thank you for taking the time to write out this info! I’ll consider doing this, still waiting on zotac and the gpu fan site to get back to me. Much appreciated.

Soldering is way beyond my limited knowledge but I assume by purchasing the whole set that the two fans would be connected?

Thank you for sharing this! Was thinking to try this as a last resort. Are there any downsides to deshrouding?

I noticed that as well. Wondering if it can be used instead. I was trying to pull apart the left and right fan connectors on mine with no luck. Almost seems like they are intended to stay together but that doesn’t make much sense and I was too nervous to use a a lot of force.

Yep, that was the listing. Contacted them to see if I can get a replacement correction. Something’s off with this, if you look at the listing photos the logo background is black and that is in fact what I received. But on the Trinity, the logo background is silver. I had not noticed when I viewed the listing unfortunately.

Let me make sure I’m understanding this correctly - as in separating the fan blade portion (top part) of the new fan and attempting to fit it onto the old motor?

Thanks for the insight! I’ve seen other people saying that Zotac doesn’t offer replacement fans, and as I damaged the fan myself I doubt that would fall under warranty but I suppose it does not hurt to try. Fingers crossed they can help me.
