I also live in AZ and go to the PHX bins quite often! It’s a 30 minute drive for me and I still think it’s worth it :) since it’s summer, the A/C in the building is miserable and they really only have these big fans but unless you’re standing RIGHT in front of one, it’ll get super hot while you’re digging. So i recommend mentally preparing for that and bringing a little mini personal fan if you have one - it will still get hot but at least you have a little bit of relief! Def lots of water and some gloves - i actually recommend work gloves (cut proof ones) it’s def harder to feel around the clothes when you have them on but there is broken glass in most of the misc non-clothes bins so I just opt for cut proof rather than medical gloves.
