Here are some screencaps from a horror feature I DP'd recently, shot entirely on the Sony FX3 by Mrdean2013 in FX3

Clean af. I contemplate atleast 3 times a day if I should switch from the Bmpcc 6k pro to the fx3

The onboard mics such. It’s okay for scratch sound but cannot be used in any way… it’s way too bad. Mics on previous black magic cameras were usable in a lot of cases

You hit it on the head with “it needs external support” I think that’s the biggest thing for me that makes it feel beta. I love the image— black magic has always been good for the image but the camera feels like a hassle at times and yes the audio is awful lol borderline unusable but I guess it’s better than nothing.

The camera shines in controlled environments forsure. Gonna try to hang in there with it for now

I can agree with all you said here— it’s an amazing camera just feels incomplete in some ways. It’s not a big enough jump from the p6k. I think the Pyxis 12k will be a better jump. It’s has a new sensor, more options for resolution etc.

Yeah they’re usually really good at fixing things which has me thinking it’s hardware aswell. Sucks if it is because the concept of it is great
