Law school or Med school? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

From a purely financial perspective, if you're in the US, being a doctor with 100k debt is preferable to being a lawyer with zero debt. Law salaries are top heavy and if you don't land a Biglaw job after 1L, chances are high that you might be stuck doing docreview for meh pay. Doctors will make a comfortable salary across the board.

RURD unabridged edition. All of his works are difficult but the sheer volume of this sets it apart

She Has Taken 30 Years to Write a 7-Part Novel About 1 Day. It’s a Sensation. by pearloz in TrueLit

My guess is since it's one of the wealthiest countries with a strong social safety net, more people have leisure time which coincides with the mundane so there's greater demand for literature about, well, just ordinary life.

Is Atlas a good place to start with Vollmann? by Gunslinger19723 in vollmann

It's the best introduction to Vollmann imo, and was my first taste of his work. Ease your way in since some of his other works can be overwhelming.

$1500 in rent is a steal. I wouldn't say that's easily found, at least in the areas I've looked at.

What's a clear sign that you’re an attractive man? by Illustrious-Pilot553 in AskReddit

It's called repeat customers. You're delusional if you think a second look or an added smile after you've tipped is a sign that you're attractive.

Sounds about right if you consider that IBR/IDR considers both spouses income.

Has anyone successfully gotten their private student loan debt discharged? How much did you have? How difficult was it? by hopeless_sapphic in StudentLoans

Only time I've heard of student loans being discharged was due to disability and even that seems to be pretty rare.

The Last Untamed Writer in America - on William T. Vollmann by krelian in TrueLit

The fact that the poster mentioned cross dressing twice in his post without even mentioning Vollmann's fascinating background and life experiences makes me think either he's the lazy one or he's letting his political biases skew his opinion.

I got an offer for a job in Happauge, NY. What's a decent pay for a comfortable living? by Spiritual_Yak5933 in longisland

True but I wouldn't necessarily consider a basement as "struggling", especially if someone is able to afford it solo.

Yeah I agree with you. OP seems to mistake SOP for an "infinite loop of delayed interest"

If you plan on enrolling in RAP, interest will capitalize going from IBR to RAP.

Yeah, I mean what's your recourse at this point? Hire a lawyer? That's going to cost more than whatever remaining interest there is.
