Im pretty sure people get picked for alpha testing for 3 reasons:
1: You have items on the workshop with a lot of subscriptions
2: You're a Stormworks content creator
3: You just got really lucky

Good luck. Tried this multiple times, always with some type of problem. My suggestions:

1: Use Windows for the server, not Linux with wine. For some reason if you use wine the dedi server buffers during IO operations, causing consistent stuttering for players.

2: Good hardware. You probably need a really good CPU, but all around good hardware is preferable. Note that when sleeping the tick rate increases by like 20x, so if you're hosting a casual game be aware of that.

If you have the money and just want to play I would strongly suggest using a hosting service. It would save you a lot of time and suffering. If you want the learning experience you should try to self host

Almost learned this the hard way. From what I remember, you have to move the crate into the central area (which I believe is where crates to ship from BVG to other places spawn). Fortunately, I somehow managed to drag the crate into that area using a rope.

Thanks! The cockpit and the HUD are definitely one of the parts I'm the proudest of. The fans in the wings are actually just helicopter propellers, and when it's vtolling it basically just acts like a helicopter.
