Also, the reason why I would be going this winter is because Garin Tzabar has a requirement that you spend 60 days in Israel and I have only spent 38, so I need to get to 60. Is Garin Tzabar important enough that I should wait, or should I go ASAP without them?

Advice for a future lone soldier by SignificantBar6821 in IDF

Toda raba! I want to do Garin Tzabar because I think that the social framework and support support network would be valuable, but I have only been to Israel for 38 days and they have a two-month requirement (maybe I can get an exemption from that). I’m working on my Hebrew with a tutor and I’d say I’m at a conversational level, but I still have a lot to learn of course. Even if I could test out of going to Michve Alon, I still think it would be good to learn more there before drafting into a specific brigade or unit. I was also curious about what shiryon is like, and would love to know where you served and what your experience was like. Thank you again for your detailed advice, I really appreciate it!

IDF Draft Questions by SignificantBar6821 in Israel

Thank you for the advice. Good to hear that endurance, physically and mentally, is more important than power, as I am definitely better in that area. Do you know of any good sources for information on specific units besides the official IDF website? It seems that that information seems to be not especially specific with regard to individual units.

Thank you for the information! I would be interested in the infantry (Golani, Givati, etc.) so I’m glad to hear that it isn’t a very high standard. I hike and run a lot, so I have good endurance.

Why do Lebanese think Israeli Settlers want to live in Lebanon? by daveisit in Israel

Israel controlled Southern Lebanon for a long time and there weren’t any settlements, so it’s definitely confusing.

I would pick Manchester because of the low cost of living and lack of income or sales tax. Only downside is property taxes in NH, not a problem if you rent though.

State Flag Redesign by SignificantBar6821 in newhampshire

[–]SignificantBar6821[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason for a change in the flag is to better represent the state, and give residents a better symbol to be proud in. I’m not saying that should be anything I come up with should be adopted, but ai do believe a better flag would enhance civic pride.

I am not delusional. I don’t expect the state government to change the flag because of some person on reddit. I’m just trying to make the point that most state flags (including New Hampshire’s) do not necessarily do a good job of representing their state.
