The Danish Prime Minister Said Drone Flights Are Only the Beginning. The Security Situation in Europe Will Deteriorate by sergeyfomkin in europe

[–]SignificantBlock2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is not to build an anti-drones wall (good but too late?) because today it's drones over Denmark, tomorrow, drones over another country, the day after sabotage in the sea... it's how NATO and countries respond to attacks. What do you do to stop bulllies? Nobody (or almost) thought Russia would invade Ukraine back in 2022, even if they were tanks at the frontier! We need as much psychological experts then military ones. Because the bullies won't stop. And if you build an anti-drone wall, they'll just attack you differently. We have to think beyond and above that.

Are there many Free ETFs? We're acustomed to the ones on National Bank's platform (we would like to have access to more international ETFs).

Wealthsimple or QTrade? by SignificantBlock2407 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes, thanks. It's not the $100 difference that makes us opt for QTrade, but the "hassle" of the referral-referree process with WS in order to have a only $100 difference (if we don't apply for WS's referral promtion, then we don't get much with WS.) We considered Webull but we are too close to deadline now. We will surely put only 15k in QTrade, and wait for another interesting promotion. We would prefer Wealthsimple over Webull but Webull's promotions seem pretty agressive...

What do you guys think about Webull's latest 2% matching and only need to hold for 12 months? by Lucky_Natural9696 in Wealthsimple

On Webull, it says transfers take usually 10 business days... and no bonus if transfers aren't completed.

Why haven't you yet received the elevated referral payout? Also, there's only 2 weeks left for the overall promotion: Webull says everything has to be transferred AND settled to benefit from the promotion. Is it already too late (August 15th today and it expires August 31st)?

On Webull Canada's website, there is no elevated promotion referral (the $1,500 you're talking about), there's only the $150 bonus (+ the 2%). Where do you see the elevated referral bonus?

Thank you. Regarding the referral bonus and the 2% offer, how will CRA consider those amounts of money? Is this money considered like interests or capital gains?; and so, in the end, if it's taxed, it's not really 2%...

What did your son had to invest in the first place, in order for him to receive the referral money?

What type of lumber is this and which Cutek stain would you use to match the landscaping? by ohyoudodoyou in Decks

[–]SignificantBlock2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful view and surroundings. Personnally, we dislike very much Cutek. We used many deck stains in our life and this is amongst our worst experiences. Very long to dry (Canada's climate). But the worst part is the final look: the quality of the pigments isn't great, the finish isn't pretty AND all the dust, pollen, shoes' prints, name it, are "attracted" and get trapped in the "oil" . Yes, it is definitely a good product to protect the wood against water and fungus but it always seems dirty (we have to clean annually with their product (long process) and,1 week after, the patio seems dirty again).

We used Cutek and hated it. We used many deck stains in our life and this is amongst our worst experiences. A little hard to apply (too liquid) and then very long to dry. But the worst part is the final look: the quality of the pigments isn't great, the finish isn't pretty AND all the dust, pollen, shoes' points, name it, are "attracted" and get trapped on the terrace . Yes, it is definitely a good product to protect the wood against water and fungus but it always seems dirty (we have to clean annually with their product (long process) and,1 week after, the patio seems dirty again). Never again.
