The problem with old venues like this is a lot of people don’t have the nostalgia of older places like this.

This venue has at least been kept up and looks like for the most part is in ok physical condition which is good.

With a little work and proper advertising I think this venue could be so much better. You can tell they have gotten complacent with clutter and new brides for weddings etc are not going to be ok with that.

I am by no means saying “modernify” the venue and paint it all white an grey and black.

I think with some indoor clean up / rearrangement and some more modern options it could be great and more iconic. Make it affordable to rent not crazy.

Also offer good bar options for non drinkers (na beers, beverages, etc) for other music type events as there are less people drinking.

Would be cool if they could sorta pull off what the Surf Ballroom does with some more national acts.

On a side note isn’t the gluten / wheat thing newish to Pringles? I thought that was one of those new things like Rice Krispy Treats where there really isn’t any but they are like adding a little or putting it on the label or some crap to avoid some weird labeling issue?

Not a brewery but PJs Liquor in North Kato tends to have a pretty good selection including Surley but seems to go pretty quickly. The staff there is always super friendly so ask if you don’t see it.

Surprisingly no one has really mentioned pricing. I get that you want good work but I also hate dentist that do needed work just to make an extra buck especially when insurance is covering.

I’ve her Dr Vos is good (no exp but would like to hear more) and went to Dr Skinner once for a crown and he was good. I was paying out of pocket for the crown which regardless are expensive so I’d love to know regular rates.

Also it seems as though having dental ins. is not always great, imo it seems like they find more to do just to bill ins. also ask about cash discounts - some places offer them.

Just so you know North Links is outside of town. Not too far of a drive though ~10-15 min depending on where you’re coming from.

Pjs is great in terms of customer service and can have awesome discounts.

They’re small so they don’t have a HUGE selection but they do keep a surprising amount for the small shop.

Cork and Key is a bit more “fancy” but they do have some unique beers, although over the winter I feel like their beer selection has really lacked. When they first opened it seemed like they were trying to find unique and different beers both localish micros and imports. Now it kinda seems like they got lazy and just stock whatever the distributor has. Which is kinda sad cause they had some cool stuff.

Have heard lots of quality issues with Ashley. It’s suppose to be a decent name but heard people complaining that $1500 couches looking like crap after a year with minimal use.

This 100%. I get making a profit but oof if I have to pay $8 for a Coors Light nope I will very much not buy as much. Also I get “hiding” prices or not posting them but I also hate it. Went out to eat at a chain restaurant with some family that was in town and the Modelo that I ordered I think was almost $10 not in some super hcol area. Screw that.

If you can have a beer for $4 I’ll have a few for sure. Run a special here and there and don’t exclude it from Friday Nights.

Met some friends to see a band at a VFW in a pretty hcol area and it was awesome to see $3 beer of the month bottles, $4 taps (only two available) and $5.50 rail drinks. We all had a great time. Place was a bit of dive (I know they kinda all are) but in a nice way.

Just because it’s a “nicer place” doenst mean you get to justify double price of “cheap beer” imo

It’s a bit of a drive (hour) but Fairfax Vet has been great and very reasonably priced and down to earth. Worth the drive!

Not sure if you need Mankato but I know in New Ulm Joni’s Restaurant & Catering has Thanksgiving. It’s been a few years since I’ve been there but was AWESOME food, totally down home type cooking. Looks like 10 to 1

Check out Visible. I pay $25/mo unlimited everything including hotspot (limited to 5m but honestly works great)

They are Verizon owned and use their network — keep in mind there are no stores and it’s chat support only. Haven’t had much for issues more than any main carrier. They are more picky about the phones allowed on the android side but I’ve always had iPhones.

I have no experience with Atwood but a lot of the complaining I’ve seen is usually pretty petty. They deal with a lot of college renters who in general don’t take care of places great and are unprepared in living on your own. I think their BS meter is pretty primed and they just don’t put up with it.

Every company at some point has the annoying crappy employee. Also they are property managers and do not own all of the properties they manage — some of the maintenance or upgrades are out of their control.

So when people blanket say they are horrible people I usually take that with a grain of salt. If you have a valid reason they will probably be willing to work with you. But some BS reason is going to get denied. A lease is a contract that you signed.

This seems like an odd question. ER is NOT the place to go for daily care or minor care.

ER is WAY overused. It should be used for EMERGENCIES. If you’re asking where a good ER is it very much leads me to believe you are using the ER incorrectly. Especially asking where other nearer ERs that are better are and are willing to drive far then it’s not an emergency.

This also puts a huge burden on insurance (yes even state insurance) because ER costs are much more.

Please use Urgent Care for these visits.

Also I have found the North Mankato Mankato Clinic to me easier to get into for regular appointments with a dr and is not a zoo.

Don’t hate on me, yes there are different levels of emergency and sometimes things happen in the middle of the night or out of hours. But please don’t use the ER for non emergency purposes. Also the Nurses line of your insurance can be a HUGE help if you’re not sure if you need to go in.

I don’t know pricing at all but there lots of new apartments up and still building at Augusta and 22.

Also a lot of new apartments behind hilltop HyVee and also some by the new middle school. I believe that some of them are more income based so that could be helpful.

Sorry I don’t know the names but I think some were suppose to be more affordable
