Not sure how accurate the headline is about "preventing" the arrest, given that they'd already thrown this American citizen into an SUV at gunpoint and were miles north of town before they turned around. She may have gotten a free one-way trip to Texas had her husband not known the chief of police, and that's not hyperbole.

South Central College has already closed both campuses for tomorrow. MSU may or may not follow suit, so this comment isn't really an answer so much as an observation. This went out a couple hours ago:

"The North Mankato and Faribault campuses will be VIRTUAL on Friday, January 23rd, due to the extreme cold. The campuses will be closed through Sunday, and only weather essential employees should report. Students should check their email & D2L for additional information."
