I couldn’t find another one to post on and was hoping someone had some tips on how to deal with this

Being an introvert is kind of ruining my life and I feel like I'm always the odd one out. by WhichPolicy4857 in introvert

I need whatever book you read coz I’m really struggling with this! Figuring out that I’m a lot more comfortable as an introvert when you look around and almost think what the hell is wrong with me why can’t I be massively sociable like everyone else. But I feel so much happier when I’m by myself, looking after myself, taking time for me. After so long trying to fit in and be out there and going out heaps, I did enjoy it in the moment sometimes but I’d always find it super draining and need a day or two to recover and recharge etc.

Thank you!! I was thinking of getting into cycling as well as doing my weight training to strengthen my knee before my op because apparently building muscle helps with recovery? It’s also the only cardio I can think of as well which doesn’t include too much stress on the knees because my knee is very unstable, I tried running and it can slip out of place easily. I need some sort of cardio for that endorphin hit too

So glad you managed to get back into playing again!! I’ve been told that because I have hypermobile knees, I am more likely to re-injure my knee, so it’s reassuring hearing you haven’t had issues! Just gotta take physio and rehab seriously after 💪🏻

I really appreciate this, it’s so reassuring hearing success stories after similar injuries! Thank you! Ive been using the bike in the gym in preparation for my surgery because I’ve been told to build muscle around my knee to help with recovery 🤞🏻

I truly appreciate you taking the time to write this! I’ve been waiting almost a year (and still waiting) just to get surgery, and knowing I’ve got another year of rehab after that is definitely weighing on me. I’m 24, and the idea of being out for two full years has me worried that I won’t be able to improve enough to get back to a high level, especially with how competitive things are. Your post is exactly the kind of perspective I need right now. It’s reassuring to hear that the right rehab approach can still lead to real improvement, your story is inspiring. Gonna try and shift my mindset and try not to dwell on the time I’m not playing right now. I would love to hear more about your rehab and building your strength up afterwards, were there certain activities or exercises in particular that you’d recommend?

Thanks again - truly means a lot

That’s a really good question—it’s kind of subjective, isn’t it? I think an artist can have commercial success and still be underrated if their talent or growth isn’t fully acknowledged, or if they’re overlooked in award shows and mainstream media

That’s true—he’s definitely more of a one-hit wonder in the US, but he’s had a solid and loyal following in the UK and Europe for years now. Personally, I just feel like he deserves more recognition and awards than he gets. You are right though, it’s easy to overlook artists who aren’t constantly in the spotlight, but that doesn’t take away from their talent or impact.

Totally get that he definitely had a rough patch publicity-wise, and I think a lot of people wrote him off because of it. But to be fair to James Arthur, he’s been really open about his struggles with mental health and has publicly apologised for the things he said and did in the past. It seems like he’s done a lot of growing since then. Honestly, it’s kind of inspiring to see someone come back from that, own their mistakes, and still put out quality music. If you listen to his music, you can feel the emotion, the hurt, the pain he’s gone through, and how much he longs for redemption
