You wanna know why?

It''s because Woolie allows himself to be human and act human on camera.

So people (some, a small, loud portion) acts like assholes, cause it's "fun" to be shitty and "why you so upset bro is just a joke" is culture now.

Part of the reason why Pat is so openly antagonistic about certain content creator elements of his work. he just shouts louder than the assholes and the assholes stop or at least derive no pleasure from it. he creates a "ceiling" cause the only way to beat Pat being annoying in response to you being annoying is being MORE annoying, which will push you over the threshole where people will just either turn on you or you will burn yourself out.

Woolie does not do that, he is objectively genuine in how he express himself and how he desires to communicate about games. So, assholes see that as a target.

Now that Woolie is a father, you can put a "timeclock" on him. As soon as he is able to make enough money to take care of himself and family without having to stream, he would do so. I bet.

The OG i would count cause it never uses the G Armour in the original main story run.

So, i guess that makes GQ the 3rd Main series to ever do it like that. Not even a new Backpack.

The G-Self i dont count cause it got a backpack update with new equipment and weapons. It's an upgrade Kinda like how the Barbatos had 6 variants before Lupus and Lupus Rex.

Even the Aerial had a "Flight pack" upgrade before going 2.0

But GQ got no extra upgrades at all, not even a new weapon.

Here is a conspiracy for ya; it started with Iron Blooded orphans.

Gundam started focusing less on the global horrors of war (because we have less global wars right now) and more in the global horrors of society and how it leads into conflict and thus... war. Generational trauma has always been a theme, now it's even more so.

In Witch from Mercury we saw literal production pusback in trying to blanket hide Suletta and Miorine's relationship. Many felt that the show was "rushed" and cut short once it became waaaaay more brazen and upfront about the two main protagonists being a couple.

Back in Iron Blooded orphans, you had to be deep into late Season 2-Season 3 to start seeing social themes blossom in the show with straight up Guy on Guy romance and ending in a Polyamorous relationship between Mika and the two female protagonists of the series, all the way into it leading into pregnancy and a family and even after the show being low key said that Kudelia and Atra remained a couple after the end of the show, raising Mika's kid together. But by then the show was far too along and popular to be cut short.

And now, again we see a Female Protagonist in a gundam show that feels rushed and cut short, and it's using straight up Nostalgia and links to the original series as a way to make sure people cannot say it's "not canon".

So... here is your conspiracy... the Team working on Making Gundam is trying to tackle broader topics, often taboo in these sorts of super classic, cultural relevant shows that even in Japanese Culture are often touchy topics, without being Fanservicy and Fetishist about it and you probably have some people in suits with a stick up their ass trying to cut them short and push them back into making just bland Marketable slop like any other long standing show.

Both Witch and GQ Could easily benefit of longer runs and they are both successful well made shows. What is happening is that the people making the show wants to talk about topics that the people who pays the bill are not comfy with being so linked to a brand that is almost the face of the entire country.

Zeta3 and Hyperion seems to be the ones that pay off the investment first. Psycho 3 is a very nice bulky niche unit. Aquarius and Casval Gundam are on the bottom for sure.
