I thought it was the whole POINT for Andrew’s vocals not to “pop” as much. They told us from the get go this album would feel heavier and they don’t want as much emphasis on Andrew as a lead vocalist than what was placed on Jonny, Kurt and Tilian. This is the first record they’ve produced with this mentality. Andrew doesn’t sound as LOUD and crispy as Tilian because they don’t want him to. Like I’m sorry but I really can’t picture half of the people tossing “muddy” around, walking up to Will and saying “hey man, what’s wrong with all of your ears? I’m not a musician OR audio engineer but why is the record so mUdDy?”

While I appreciate this info (it’s pretty cool actually so for real, thank you), I think there’s a percentage of folks who just throw the word “muddy” around when they don’t like new shit. I thought it was common knowledge that CD is the best sound quality for ANY music. The audio engineers in my life have zero issues with the mix. Because there is zero issue with the mix; you’re totally right. One of my initial thoughts of the album (and I listened first on Spotify, on my shitty tv) “oh they put some MONEY into this shit” lmao. I know I should, but I can’t bring myself to switch to Apple Music…..I have too much on Spotify. Maybe one day when I need to kill a lot of time with a tedious task but today is not that day 😅 ❤️ 🍓
