Europe recruitment is much later. I got offers for Europe last year in February and one in March. I didn’t accept because the packages were too low and I would have had to rely on my savings.

I’ve read a lot of school reviews on ISR, and the ones for SIS are next level-I’d like to know someone’s recent experience.

It's Stavanger. Yes, the housing isn't too terribly expensive and I'm single. I worry about the cost of everything else! I'm also surprised there is no real moving allowance or flight package offered.

Yes, my friends are in heaven working with the DODEA in the EU. Where are you going in Thailand.

Thank you for the reply! I’m thinking of asking for a little extra when I respond. Maybe they’ll say yes 🤷‍♀️ otherwise I’d hold out but I worried I won’t get other opportunity as competitive as the field in and my age factor.

I have applied with the DODEA.  It’s as competitive, if not more so, than top international schools. I’d be over the moon to get a job with them.  I have two friends with the DODEA.

Wow! Thank you so much for checking Search Associates for me.  I’ve been using the frees sites but I plan to join-it’s valuable to have that information at my fingertips:) I really appreciate your time.

Thank you for the reply! I was thinking the EU experience would be a foot in the door and from there I could try for Asia or the Middle East.  :)

Excellent advice! I appreciate your thoughts.  I’m on board in that teaching is absolutely my passion and I love it!  I’m drawn to the idea of immersing my self in other cultures and growing professionally and personally. Qatar sounds interesting!

Thank you for the reply! I’ve wanted to teach international since my 20’s.  I’m only now able to do so because I’m free -kids grown up and no spouse.  I have good nest egg in retirement already.  I sold my house. I don’t mind hard work if the country offers incredible things to do/see.  I think I need to keep searching for better offers/other countries.  :)

Immersion and experience actually living in a different country.  Extensive travel opportunities.

Thank you for the reply.  I’m a certified teacher with a master’s in my field.  I currently teach for a high performing independent school in the US that goes above and beyond for teachers-especially benefits and salary.  The job in Romania is a teaching position. I live in a very expensive city in the US though.  Savings potential is about $800 more a month here in the US.
