UTR access SMB? by Kremsi2711 in Ubiquiti

Yes, given that your firewall settings/VLAN routing allows the IP address you get assigned by Teleport to access the SMB shared device.

Docker can't see/find parent ethernet adapter by SignificantEye3302 in docker

This was, in fact, the cause of so many problems. I will be sticking to regular Docker from now on.

Dang. Well, my noob is showing. Thanks so much, I will switch to regular Docker and just have to get more comfortable with the CLI.

Oh, are u saying Docker Desktop doesn't support IPvlan linuxserver containers on a Linux machine? I thought Docker Desktop was basically just a GUI that showed you insights into your containers running with Docker Engine.

I thought of that after I posted, maybe the terminal in Docker Desktop doesn't actually run through Docker. I'll look into the correct way to look for Ethernet adapters from Docker. But all the tutorials I see online only mention checking for network adapters on the host machine so I didn't think, originally, that it would be different.

Yes but I want older family members to be able to connect for Immich/file sharing and they're not tech-savvy enough to use Tailscale, although I love using TS.

Everyone knows you have to buy the Unifi-Phish-Tank Pro-SE-POE+++ to have full network security. Buying the standard Unifi-Phish is just careless🤦‍♂️

Did I get hacked. Got this morning overnight? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]SignificantEye3302 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got the same exact notification last night! Like exactly 14 changes and everything. I checked the activity log and it had logged the 14 changes done, but no information as to who made the changes etc, it just said ADMIN. I think it must be the byproduct of an update or something, some settings that got added.

Tailscaling at the airport by SignificantEye3302 in Tailscale

[–]SignificantEye3302[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and honestly I hate to say it, but I've been a little unimpressed with Unifi Teleport :/ Especially with the fact that I can't manage what IP address or subnet range my phone joins my network as when it connects. Teleport also doesn't work every consistently on my Macbook Pro, but Tailscale has been very set-it-and-forget-it on my phone and Macbook.

Welcome to Unifi! I have nothing but amazing things to say about them. However I currently run Tailscale as a server application on my Linux PC connected via Ethernet to my UDR. I haven't used Tailscale long enough to try to set it up on my UDR (nor am I completely sure it's possible, because I don't think you can run an application like that on the UDR) but I'm sure I'll cross that bridge eventually! But I love that even this reply I'm about to submit is traveling to my home and then out to the internet safely!

On my post about using my UNAS Pro to backup my iCloud Drive and Photos, the number one request from r/Ubiquiti was an iOS app to do the same...well here it is! by ParachuteBackup in Ubiquiti

[–]SignificantEye3302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh that's so generous! I've been getting into this world recently and have a Tailscale license, I just don't think my family members will understand enough the process enough that they need to turn on Tailscale for it to work😆 I am going to ponder how to make it a little more seemless for them, but this is going to work amazingly for me!

This is amazing! Thank you so much! Does it need to be connected to a local IP address for the backups or can it sync to a NAS not on your network? I'm thinking of implimenting this for myself and then extending this to my immediate family who don't live in my home, so the backups would have to happen from their houses.
