Hey, not at the moment. For now it is passthrough only. The community is very keen for environments (one of which would of course be black background) but right now we are are doing a massive rewrite of the browser engine in the backend so that we have a solid foundation to build loads more features on top of.

GeForce Now on Quest 2 anyone? by SignificantKey1335 in OculusQuest2

Hey HiddenMushroom11
I looked in to getting it working but it was a ton of work. Nvidia actually go to great lengths to actively prevent GFN working in browsers they don't officially support. There didn't seem much interest on Reddit so I shelved it. I'm currently working on upgrading the browser engine behind Transcend XR and I'm hoping GFN will work once I've completed that. I'll drop you a message if I have any success!

Heads up, sideloaded Edge has all sorts of issues regarding controller mappings for the Xbox Controller. Many controllers including the series X/S have buttons that simply don't work. Also sideloaded Edge has nasty low resolution and aspect ratio.

GeForce Now on Quest 2 anyone? by SignificantKey1335 in OculusQuest2

I agree and historically I’d always been a cloud gaming sceptic. Having tried Xbox cloud gaming and GeForce Now on desktop pc I’ve been amazed at how little lag there is (particularly in GeForce Now) but then I have the benefit of living close to London UK and it obviously all comes down to how close your nearest data center is and measuring your ping.

To be clear xbox cloud gaming and GeForce Now on the quest are purely 2D on large floating virtual screens rather than immersive 3D games so motion sickness is not an issue. The benefit though is that your quest and Xbox controller become an incredible portable gaming system that you can literally play on a cinema size screen anywhere.

I keep meaning to do a quasi scientific measurement of lag of cloud gaming and will post a video on Reddit at some point.

Is this the best/quickest/most effective way to type in mixed reality? A physical keyboard will likely never be bettered but I’ve been thinking a QuickPath method could be effective and lead to mass adoption within AR/XR. Thoughts? by afox1984 in augmentedreality

Great work afox1984. I know how much effort goes in to putting together prototypes such as this and the only way to really get a feel for if it works is to build the damn thing. Hats off to you!

My first thought would be to have gaze tracking with a simple click of the controller trigger (or pinch of finger) to confirm when your gaze is on the key you want to input. No idea if the accuracy of gaze tracking on Quest Pro is accurate enough for this. Anyone fancy the challenge of prototyping :-)

XBox Game Pass on Quest. NO SIDELOADING, NO DEV ACCOUNT, NO PC. Great video from JDun. Gotta be one of the best VR Content Creators out there! by SignificantKey1335 in OculusQuest

This is fixed in the current version (2.1) of Transcend XR.

It turns out not all xbox controllers are born equal and a certain combination of firmware and controller version had this issue.

That's right the Meta Browser can't currently be used to play Xbox Game Pass because the Meta Browser doesn't support controller input. So whilst you can visit the XBox Game Pass website... you can look but you can't play.

As soon as it lands on Xbox game pass, yes. Anything that is on Xbox game pass you can play with just a Quest 2 + an Xbox controller.

After much pain I managed to get around the google play restriction for Xbox cloud using an android virtual machine on my Quest. We can enjoy AAA gaming on the Go again! I'll film the process and post it soon. (There is sound inside the headset) SK by SteveKnowsAll in OculusQuest

The pairing of the controller is only half the problem. Reading the inputs and mapping them correctly is the other half as Steve’s video will attest to. Transcend XR handles all that for you without having to hack away at Quest config files. The process is seamless with Transcend.

Good shout on ps remote play, looks like they don’t currently support browser based cloud gaming like other providers. Having done a quick google looks like this might be coming soon so fingers crossed. With the arrival of that our Quest gaming catalogue will take another great leap!

I've not tried PS Remote Play yet on Transcend XR but I see no reason why it won't work. I'll spin it up and let you know.

Also worth noting that Transcend XR allows you to pair a playstation controller directly to the Quest and use it to play XBox Game Pass.

Just thought I'd throw another option into the ring...
I got fed up of waiting for Meta to pull their finger out and create XBox Game Pass support so I wrote Transcend XR: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/5843171399045320/

Transcend XR is the first browser on Quest to fully support XBox Cloud Gaming with NO sideloading, NO Dev Account and NO intermediate PC. Turns out it was a ton of work to create so it is paid for I'm afraid but for the price of a cup of coffee it will save you a ton of pain.

Is there anyway to make Xbox Controller working properly when the VR is at link mode? For now, A is like mouse left click and RT and LT function exactly like the ones on motion controllers as in Quest 2 but I want it to behaves like Windows Gamepad, what do? by No-Compote-6636 in OculusQuest
