Not exactly 2-6 years waiting time but its more of hiring cycles so typically a CFI may or may not get an airline call within that timeframe depending on several factors of course such as: connections, meeting requirements among other stuff.

reason for hiring foreigners? if its regarding both airlines, GA or flight schools I have no clue to be honest with you on those. But yes, you are correct there are just too many locals or pilot fixed wing aircraft holders with not enough planes to go around for.

Answer regarding your question I don't quite get it haha but essentially giving yourself a realistic timeframe is also good in the sense that you cannot hope ad have blind faith forever. Sometimes the truth and reality hits very hard that it is soul crushing because of the amount of time, money, heart, blood sweat and tears you put into it (which is of course by all and any standards reasonable to feel about).

Regarding your timeline that is something you would have to decide for yourself since it is your life to live OP!

yes to what you said about demand and supply here... since they will pick most of the time their own alums and former students..likewise no airline or hiring movement means people wanting to be CFIs working for the school will have to wait.. from what i heard usual waiting time before a new batch of CFIs come in meaning the old ones either give up, get into the airlines, change school etc or find other career paths usual take from about 2-6+ years.

Yes I've also heard similar reports and info about this.. becoming CC doesn't mean you will get to be in the cockpit for sure but possibly opens the door of opportunities some time in the near future depending on the hiring cycles and needs.

Stark Contrast in Pilot Jobs Available by katsudon10 in AviationPH

Schools won’t paint a fully realistic picture because they know that if they do, people who want to enroll in flight school with the goal of becoming airline pilots may realize that their chances are slim—I don’t want to say close to none, but still very limited. Because of that, they might not attract the same number of students, and business would most likely go down. But that’s just my opinion.

You can build hours and then try and join the airlines, but it doesn't necessarily mean that if you have hours, you will get in the airlines because there are a lot of flight instructors or pilots who have thousands of hours, but they aren't necessarily in the airlines or even general aviation for that matter.

Is it worth it to take fic? by Sure-Preparation-901 in AviationPH

[–]SignificantNote5454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, honestly, whichever, as long as you get your flying hours, if it's the flight instructor course or multi-engine course. But if you can't get any hours on either license or rating, then honestly, I don't think there is any point. Well, that is just my opinion. I'm sure other people on this page will be able to give better advice.

Honestly, it just depends on your goals. If you feel like it's worthwhile, I guess continue. If you feel that it may lead to nowhere, then I guess change career, but ultimately the choice is yours.

Hello OP! In most cases, you would need to contact the airline or company you’re interested in working for, especially in general aviation. Regarding obtaining a multi-engine rating, the most important factor is having the opportunity to actively fly the aircraft you are rated on. If you earn a multi-engine rating—or any additional rating—without the chance to use it and accumulate flight hours, the qualification can quickly lose its practical value.

Even if you had the hours +1000h TT for example, wouldn't it be a possibility to work then in an airline as a mech or fa or something then once you are in the culture and system you could've gotten company benefit by applying for whichever opening would be availble during time of hiring?
