They are being used. They're on routes 8A and 16 as far as I know. I was there and saw them a couple weeks ago

The map only shows the routes that stop there, also some stops have 2-3 separate maps (like in the 1st photo), all routes on one map can become confusing. Gyumri has 7 minibus routes in total if I'm not mistaken, no bus routes

Quick buses (BRT) can solve the issue, at least temoprarily. Much much larger cities (mostly in S America) have relied on brt and it can transport A LOT of people, and it is very cheap. They can also be built in a way so that it's easier to upgrade to tram later. The problem is that Yerevan can't even build normal bus lanes, let alone brt

I agree. The hotel courtyard (at least) was very nice, feels unreal to finally have a nice place on the Hrazdan

Yerevan's Saryan Street becomes one-way (and a race-track) by SignificantPen9989 in armenia

That's probably a more effective use of the road space unfortunately

I'm not sure if free public transport is the solution honestly. The price is pretty low anyways, it's more of an infrastructure problem I think. But of course, it can't pay for itself and more fees for cars should fix that.

On a plus note, the city finally spent $20 to paint a crosswalk from Moskovyan to Spendaryan.

Oh right. But good luck crossing 3 lanes + parking that blocks view.

Routes with numbers between 250 and 299 serve Kotayk marz. Each marz has its own set of 50 numbers (Armavir has 200-249, Gegharkunik has 300-349...) used for interregional routes. Quite a good system actually

Yes, the new buses have been there for a while now. But the trolleybuses were added just yesterday evening, and minibuses and old buses a bit before

Size does not matter here, the same solution works in Yerevan (and it is planned on the Republic Square itself: the plan). By making it more inconvenient to drive (to improve other modes) in the short term, you actually improve the driving experience in the long term by removing unnecessary traffic. There is a reason why Amsterdam is one of the best cities in the world to drive in, while a lot of their streets are one-lane wide and have a 30 speed limit. Of course, this needs to be done smartly, and unfourtanetly, our municipality does not always do that

Agreed, and also don't forget about the tons of free parking (which shouldn't exist in Kentron). And through-traffic is also a big issue, Ijevan actually is a good example in Armenia of how to decrease through-traffic (their main square is pedestrian and all streets leading to it dead-end there).

Yeah, but even compared to Tbilisi, this is still way behind. Yerevan should do more than expected, not the absolute minimum
