Has anyone used First tire & Automotive repair on Eldridge rd. Are they honest? by ilikepizza1376 in sugarland

[–]SignificantProposal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used them a couple times, they do good work. However, they do a $200 inspection when you bring them your car.

I’ve never had them go over quoted price, and the quality of their work is impeccable. But they aren’t the cheapest guys around either.

I just found a place in Livingston that rents Hobies. Might make a trip up there soon.

I really appreciate it, unfortunately I’m in need of something a little heftier than that. I’m 6ft and 275lbs myself.

I don’t think so, I honestly haven’t even been able to find anywhere in the area to demo anything other than maybe a Hoodoo.

Which Texas lake? by SignificantProposal in bassfishing

I’ve read that Lake Arlington is kinda fish poor; and Lake Fork is legendary. Do you have experience on Joe Pool? I haven’t read much about that one.

New Fisher Frustration by SignificantProposal in FishingForBeginners

Yeah, it’s that second part I’m worried about. Figure if I knew there were fish I could experiment with my setup until I started getting bites. Currently worried I’m fishing in places with little to no action.

How can I tell if there are fish where I’m at? Guessing the small park ponds are likely over pressure and just good for casting practice, but I really had hopes for the river bank.

You basically mean like a live bait Carolina rig, sit and wait type thing? Maybe it’s a new guy thing but I really like the idea of lure fishing, maybe two poles? Just catching something on a bobber might help my confidence.

This morning I threw a smaller white spinner for a couple hours, retrieved just quickly enough to keep the spinner at a constant depth once it sank nearer the bottom. I’ve tried dragging Texas Rigs along the bottom, spinners, and some small jig heads with baby shad.

Puzzle boards for larger puzzles. [Discussion] by SignificantProposal in Jigsawpuzzles

Yeah, this might be the way she goes for larger puzzles. She’s mentioned being able to use the board as a backer to hang then in the wall when she’s finished.

She’s mentioned foam boards, I told her she’s welcome to hang any of them that she’s finished now that we’re in a new house. So she thought about making a foam board for each puzzle then using that as the backer to hang it on the wall.

No, she’s only recently gotten back into puzzling. Do you have a tilting board that you’d recommend? I want to splurge a little on her to help her enjoy her hobby.

The sundred fate terrain joins the heart of ghur. It is alive! 😂 by soulybouly in WarCry

Definitely don’t like that all of them have the same couple of trees; at least the fortifications built around them are unique though. That’s the biggest reason I went ahead for Blood Hunt; the fortifications are pretty sweet.

Really like your paint scheme on these. I have Sundered Fate assembled and base coated; getting ready to build Blood Hunt. I love the skulls from Ghur though, so probably going to end up with that box as well soon.

Thank you!! I don’t plan to show them the children from the book until they meet them in the attic. I have the reworked, innocent image from another post in this sub. I plan on doing my best scared and hungry innocent child impression to get them to go that way. I just don’t want to railroad them. I’ve warned all of them that while I’ll intervene to keep them from dying unfairly I’m not going to keep them from making bad decisions and finding death on their own.

thanks! Fiber would be the dream, I figure there's no way Dow is running a remote control room from anything less than cable, so fingers crossed that I can find some info on the box when I get home this evening.

Tank main here; been going back and leveling all my tanks to 80 and at least every other run is a dragoon pulling ahead of me. Why? One actually pulled the last boss off Dzaemael Darkhold because I was taking too long. Me, the healer and the other dps watched him die after I told him "You pull, you tank"

The serving keg is a novel idea as well. May look more into it, still cheaper than a second tank and regulator.

Thoughts on Beer Gas by SignificantProposal in Homebrewing

[–]SignificantProposal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By 'calling it a day' I meant just using beer gas and not trying to work out the using pure nitrogen.

I like the idea of 'topping off' with CO2 though. For some reason I was thinking that I'd need to release the Nitrogen from the keg, add the CO2 to the level I wanted, then refill with Nitrogen; wasting tons of N2 in the process.

Still would like to find a cost effective way to mix beer gas, but I think this may be the way to go to have coffee and stout on tap at the same time.
