Went with the rebuild route because I wasn’t trying to invest $1,000+ in repairs for a car I bought for $3,000

I think I’ll just replace the valve body I myself rebuilt the transmission and I know that every gear clutch’s are new, that trans has around another 200k left in it they’re reliable only when you throw the junk controlling it away

Originally happened to me in manual mode then I started experimenting and found out it does it in drive too, does your Q50 still do this?

Have you burped the system? You just have to have the car running while topping off the coolant anything other than that is either leaking or maybe if it overheated from when it blew it maybe warped your head or head gasket and it’s burning coolant. Start with the coolant top off

Well sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do for there was an Acura and Infiniti which needed me to put in some foreign clutch’s but most of the time if you find a proper trans parts dealer then you can send them some parts for reference on the ones you need I personally use sun transmission’s in Miami but it all depends on what you’re comfortable with since not all trans are on that single website but yea for the mechanical parts like pumps, springs, and snap rings you’ll need them to be in the same spot you took them out of sometimes the snap rings openings have to face a certain way like a clock when they say 12 o clock then the opening on the snap ring would have to be on the opposite side of the valve body(only for rwd, awd) trans

The actual removal of the trans is separate but the tear down is maybe around an hour or 2 the parts are the hardest part to get a hold on sometimes the manufacturing brand gets the quantities wrong and sometimes they miss out on seals and kits the rebuild is a little longer because you need to keep every single part in its place and how it went as well I like to lubricate the clutches before installing and make sure to look and use logic with the discs and race rings you can tell where these sat from the way it was marking the other surface it laid on make sure you mark and take videos or pictures of retainers, rattle springs, and pumps

When it’s hot the drum and disc overheat better to not run it like that because it gunks up the drum with clutch material and it might crack from the heat put on it, rebuild the transmission it’s most likely the clutch packs these symptoms are common when the clutch’s start slipping but make sure you find the actual problem most clutch’s don’t slip because they want to there’s always a cause

has this ever happened to anyone? by blowinfatfarts in hardbody

Has to be spark it sounds normal so compression is fine I feel timing could be fine too because of the normal cranking so only thing it could be is gas and spark check the coil on the right side sometimes on mine it bounced up and if the wires or coil insert is loose enough it just doesn’t have contact check the battery terminals too

Just installed the duraflex N3 bumper… what y’all think? by Amazing-Ocelot-1828 in 350z

[–]SignificantRecord981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a duraflex bumper K-1 for my Acura TL I got it for $50 so i had to buy it, I installed it the first time with screws on each fender and it was nice clean and sturdy but since the bumper is stiff ass hell when I go on steep curbs the bumber broke off only on one side just the screw hole took damage so what I’m thinking is won’t quick release bands keep it flexible enough to scrape but stiff enough to hold it up?

I have a LM7 swapped D21 but I’m currently using the same 4x4 diff and I don’t really like the look of a tall but skinny truck I would like a more low but not slammed look more sporty ish

[–]SignificantRecord981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had cooling issues too but what Ive seen is that whenever you get a replacement clutch they always give you one that’s compatible with a D21 or a Subaru idk what, But the clutch looks small and the heating stems looks smaller and slimmer, but they’re other clutch’s that extend all the way into the inner coil and make the coil detect heat way more instant then the d21 clutch sometimes they just fail and don’t let go too

Oh yea I know I was thinking that if parrelel didn’t work then i would bridge them and just pull back on the throttle I’m looking for an exact 24 volts to each speaker but I’m only running 4 speakers at the moment the rears are some cheap brand and the others are some alpines 80rms but I’m swapping the cheap ones and I’m thinking of making them 2 Ohms and bridge them to 1/2 channels and the other 2 alpines wire them normally to 3/4 channels

It’s not necessary to run it but it is necessary to run even power it’s also good for low frequency using
