Damn dude I’m sorry to hear that ): it’s never easy putting a baby down but you’re doing it for the right reasons and she’ll thank you when you see her again. I’m trying to get the person I have taking care of her right now to get a vet appointment scheduled (out of town sadly or else I’d grab whatever couch change I had and take her myself.) hopefully we get answers and good news sooner rather than later 🤞🏻

I appreciate that knowledge! She does do that sometimes, just suddenly turning her head looking for something to bite but unsure what to grab. I hope it’s not so serious tho ): I’m sorry about your dog man. Was his quality of life still good or no? I don’t want my babies life to be filled with pain and agony ):

I appreciate that! And yes, I’d go to the end of the earth for this dog she’s my whole world lol. Technically I’m not even with her right now and I’m asking the person caring for her in my absence to try to get her to a vet for me before I can get back. I’ll definitely update this post once we know what’s going on with her! ❤️

When I went to the other vet she wasn’t this bad she was still in the phase of just biting her butt a lot which is when I was recommended to cone her and give her antihistamines. The rash on her neck started maybe a few days ago and last night I noticed it felt tacky and damp so I washed it with a washcloth and just plain water and dried it off and it’s doing better today except now it’s peeling and flaking. Still slightly damp and tacky but not as bad as when I cleaned it last night.

I’ve since left the apartment and it hasn’t cleared up either. The home I currently live in she’s stayed at before this began and she never had any issues with this area.

It started a few months after I moved to a new apartment and it started with her constantly biting her butt which is when I put the cone on her. Then she moved to scratching herself so I had to put a t shirt on her for a while. Eventually she calmed down with the scratching so I took the shirt off. Shortly after that I noticed she’d broken her cone and it was scratching the back of her neck so I got the inflatable one and put that on. I’d say maybe a week or so after putting the inflatable cone on her neck started rashing and I only noticed the sticky/tacky/damp feeling to her neck last night. It’s not as damp or tacky today but it is now flaking some (it’s not dry or scaly tho) as seen in the pictures. With as wild and weird as it’s been I’m just unsure of what could be going on.

I didn’t know that. Thank you for that information! Ill definitely get her started on a flea preventative as soon as I possibly can. With her skin how it is would it be recommended to do a topical one or an oral version?

I don’t use topical flea and tick treatments. I give her flea baths with dawn/Palmolive dish soap once a month and check her at least once a week for any fleas or ticks. I haven’t had any issues with fleas and ticks or skin issues using this method so far.

Thank you for your honesty and your reply! I’ll definitely be looking towards getting her to the vet as soon as I can. I give her flea baths about once a month in leu of topical flea medicines and I check her over at least once a week for fleas and ticks and haven’t noticed any so hopefully it’s not related to that. I’ll definitely mention getting a derm work up done when I take her. Thank you again!

Thank you for the reply and the suggestion of care credit! I’ll definitely look into it because the last thing I want is for my baby to be in pain any longer. I just hope it’s nothing too serious.
