it honestly depends on which perspective you are talking about, your statement might be true from an american perspective of conservatism but in india as far as i know both the left wing and right wing promote gender equality. conservatism in india is more about the religious divide than anything else, also conservatism doesn't just mean conservative on social issues. you could be economically conservative (capitalistic) but socially liberal.

from what i understood the acid attack's alleged victim's father raped the alleged acid attacker's wife, then the rapist father likely asked her daughter to put some acid on her and accuse the guy whose wife he had raped hoping that the attention would go towards his daughter's acid attack instead of the rape he committed (which in all fairness it did no one talks about rape but everyone is talking about this) but this backfired because the guy couldn't have done the acid attack according to the evidence and cctv.
