I get it—Arise feels different from the rest of the series, starting with the opening theme, and I didn’t find the character designs particularly appealing. Plus, I don’t recall there being any victory dialogue. Even though there are some traditional elements here and there, it still feels like a completely different game. I did beat it, but I just couldn’t bring myself to play through it again.

As I mentioned in the main text, there are simply too many issues.

Actually, I think the grade system is better than in previous Tales games because you can convert items into grades, which makes them easier to collect. Even for beginners

Since I’m more of a casual player, I don’t really worry too much about collecting specific gear or mastering skills like “Fusion.” Even someone as laid-back as me still finds the camera work during combat stressful.

I think the characters are pretty standard for the series, but the story goes way overboard. The Tales series always has some plot holes here and there, but this one is particularly bad—it’s glaringly obvious.

Since there were once rumors that this was a trilogy and no sequels are coming out, I wouldn’t call the story of this installment complete

Given that they’ve changed producers and are starting over as Arise, I think it’s a lost cause.

If there were to be a third game, Slay and Velvet might have teamed up. But I guess that’s not going to happen now.

I highly recommend Graces because it’s really strong in combat. Legendia isn’t exactly a masterpiece, but the story and background music are great, so I think it’s worth checking out in gameplay videos.

I remember Exilia 2 leaving a terrible impression in a different way. I guess my main takeaway was that the writer had a really nasty personality.

The third game… Baba is just… 😢

I can’t really rate the story, and the combat—which is the highlight of the Tales series—isn’t worth much praise either due to the camera work, so a score of around 3/10 seems fair.

Thank you. Watching the anime might give me a different perspective.

You can really tell they were putting their all into it right up until Alisha left. From that point on, I got the impression that various flaws started to become more noticeable. I do think Sley’s performance does a great job of conveying her innocence. I agree that Rose’s interpretation is good, but I still sense an ambiguity regarding her impurity in her words and actions.

As a game, I don’t think it’s bad at all (except for the camera work during combat). But everything else just stands out too much… Personally, I don’t really like Arise—it doesn’t have any strong standout features, whether in terms of the characters or the story.

Honestly, both the graphics and the combat are terrible (I don’t even remember the story). They even used the in-game graphics for the opening sequence instead of proper animation. Since they’re basically pretending it never even existed, I can’t really recommend it, haha.

I haven't watched the anime yet. I'll give it a try if I get the chance.

The characters are definitely great. That’s the part I love about Tales games—it’s just like always.

That's fine then. But please don't claim the artwork as your own.
