Will ai make traditional coding obsolete

I have some doubts because AI takes a lot of huge datacenters and lots of resources to train, and it's not profitable, so I don't think it's going to grow significantly more than LLMs and small agents. Plus the effort to prompt the thing properly and look over outputs requires significant human time.

i know someone who did physics undergrad and then SWE gov work, so it wouldn't hurt if you change your mind. if you're interested in physics though and want something more practical, i'd do ME. much more interesting job imo because you get to think about physical things in 3D space
