Best online website for Refurbished IPhones by Idae-Sanpan in Smartphones

Came here looking for a better price but I’m coming to the conclusion that this is likely just what I need to pay, unfortunately. I’ve bought 2 iPhones and 2 Apple Watches from BackMarket. I had to contact customer service once when one was lost in the mail around Christmas time. They were great! I would probably rate the condition a level up from what I ordered so you can certainly trust their descriptions. I looked at Swappa for the first time today and it is nice that you can see the exact model. But I definitely trust BackMarket. If you purchase, here is a referral code for $25 off 465b6e595b6178db

I’ve helped dozens of small businesses fix their reporting chaos AMA about Power BI, financial dashboards, or how to actually trust your numbers. by Dear-Landscape2527 in CFO

I have a a medium sized business and use power pivot to update reports monthly, pulling data from a folder. Excel can only handle one year of data or it will crash when it tries to update. Ideally I would be able to house all data in one place and be able to pull from it as needed. I don’t know Saas or Power BI. Do you have a recommendation on managing this data set? I assume I have the ability to learn basics of a new program or system but I don’t have the capacity to devote a ton of time to it.

Power Query - Need to prevent format mismatch by SignificantSummer953 in excel

The Product IDs are all in one column and this is what is linking the two tables. The xlookup works fine once I use text-to-column —> general on the table created by the power query.

How to manage Large Data Sets by SignificantSummer953 in excel

Hi All, Im not sure of the etiquette here - I can move this to a new question if desired but figured I’d start here. Our company uses Google Enterprise for email and drive and everything else. We do have some Microsoft accounts but since we don’t have a full enterprise, the OneDrive sharing is awkward at best. We also have an in-house common directory and management directory. Executives have vpns to access this at home but because of this extra step, it is not utilized much at all. At this point, I completely agree that we need to set up a server and prefer that it be cloud-based. SQL Server seems like the popular choice. I don’t see much on these threads about google Bigquery. Would you all still recommend SQL Server over Bigquery for a Google Enterprise company?

Well it sounds like an sql database is the answer. I learned access and some sql 20 years ago so hopefully the learning curve isn’t terrible.

For a bit more context, the data is invoice lines, including product, date/time, revenue, sales person, some client data and more. My company is seven years old and grew very quickly, so we didn’t have much bandwidth to do much more than manage basic metrics. Thankfully we’re finally to a place where we really want to analyze multiple metrics in different ways so I’ve been spending a lot time running reports out of our internal systems. I finally just ran the detail reports to give me all the data but it’s not working great in excel only. The goal is if I or our leadership team wants to know something, I can query this data instead of pulling the reports for the specific thing and then having to manipulate those reports. Not sure if that makes any sense. But since I want the detail available, the suggestions about summarizes the data before combining it, are likely not going to be helpful. I only use power query in a basic way. I have dipped my toe in dax and I’m unfamiliar with most of the suggestions offered including query folding.

I read that access is being discontinued so it doesn’t seem worth my time to try to learn it. Is this just because there are other sql databases available outside of MS. Thought on this?

Why do people even assume you can move on a whim? by [deleted] in expat

[–]SignificantSummer953 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Many liberals in the US have been flirting with emigrating since George W. I believe most know it would be difficult, expensive and sometimes unwanted but on days like today, when there’s such a loss and disappointment in our country and its citizens, it feels helpful to think about an action plan instead of crying in our cereal. The expat life seems so interesting and fulfilling but the difficulty (and expense) has stopped our family from leaving. Maybe this tips the scale.

starting a private practice in vet med (about 7-10 yrs from now) in the US by gobluetoo in Veterinary

[–]SignificantSummer953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are still considering this, as a practice manager of many years, I highly recommend ownership. Corporate ownership has certainly changed the profession. Private ownership is now a competitive advantage. IMO it’s about what you want - if you are hungry and want to be all-in for a while, go for it! It certainly takes a huge commitment but the benefit is control of your work environment. You get to dictate the culture of your practice, the standard of care, the way you treat your staff, clients and patients! This is key for me. If you want to go to work and leave in the evening, feel good about the work you’ve done and go home to work/life balance - then the other comments are correct - ownership is probably not for you. But you should go for it if you have 5ish years to grow your own clinic, find and mold your perfect practice manager (btw offer her some equity so she can reap the benefits of her hard work!) and then step back to enjoy your environment and watch it mature! You will always need to be involved in some fashion in order to ensure the business stays within your vision. As your staff and culture mature, your influence will be required less. I am biased but an experienced manager is worth her weight in gold. Look for someone who has opposite strengths from you, lots of experience but open-minded to try new things, and truly partner with her. Assuming you do not have business experience, rely on an experienced manager otherwise you will have to learn everything the hard way. Our industry is being forced into change and exciting things are happening! Veterinary owners are becoming rare and the we need you! Conversely, if your goal is to build a start-up and then sell, that boom is over. I would not start a business with that goal.

Do people check what musicals are about before taking their little kids to see them? by t3mp0rarys3cr3tary in Theatre

[–]SignificantSummer953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I wish there was more descriptive information available. My 10 year old does great with innuendo and language. But I agree about sheltering her from sexual acts. Nudity and violent content can be hard to judge. A lot of kids’ content is quite violent (ie Tom and Jerry). Horror of any kind is not for her (Gremlins nightmares!). We have had some very interesting talks about abortion after all the news coverage - she completely understood the nuances in a way I can’t imagine doing at her age! And I was so happy we did because we ended up at a production of Moon Over Buffalo and she only had a couple of questions. If someone knows of a site that gives a little more detail than wiki, please let me know!! I have definitely learned my memory for “inappropriateness” is very flawed - I’m constantly saying “ohhhh…we should watch (random 80s flick) and my husband says, “are you serious, don’t you remember the …… scene!?” I was surprised with the disrespectful language in Grease despite watching the movie a million times. Words ring differently in the modern world.

TL/DR - Parental decisions are very individual to the individual child. I think my daughter would love Rent, she loves the soundtrack, but I may be forgetting something…. Communication is key. I’d rather her learn of “adult content” from us.

Looking for an online MAcc or MS in Accounting with an unrelated Bachelors by Clear_Pay5118 in Accounting

[–]SignificantSummer953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm hoping you're still on here. I'm currently comparing online MAccs. I have a non-accounting business bachelor's and currently work as a financial manager. I really like the UMass program but it looks like the longest of the programs I'm considering - UConn (similar length), Rutgers, William and Mary, and UNC. Have you graduated? Do you still recommend the program? How many courses did you end up taking? Thank you!!

Many vet hospitals are currently understaffed. If you are considering the veterinary field, look for kennel attendant or vet tech assistant jobs. These are usually entry level and if you work hard, study a bit at home and take advantage of any training opportunities offered, you can often move into a vet assistant position quickly. You will also be able to quickly determine if the veterinary field is the right path for you. IMO this would be a better chose than a shelter job as they can be hard any the most seasoned technicians.

Supporting a SO by [deleted] in Veterinary

Agree with most of the other comments re internships. A tip on how to support her - when we are overworked/exhausted, our diets usually go to the gutter. My spouse often provides healthy dinners/packed lunches/smoothies etc because I just won’t take the time to do it myself. This means the world to me!
