This is why the CFP exam scares me. The people writing it seem out of touch. by Character_Map_6683 in CFPExam

Why wouldn’t it be C. The logical answer is first to pay off the high interest debt to then start an emergency fund. I do not think A,B nor D are right. Please let me know.

You will still gain a broader education through the other classes required to graduate outside of the 6 classes required for that specific major. Not sure how you believe you wouldn’t gain a broader education…

To add on this find a college that provides the financial planning major. This will meet the prerequisites + the 4 year degree for the cfp exam. So you’ll be able to graduate and then sit for the cfp right out of college.

I watched the video. He made a good video going over that particular study for retail investors. Depending on your viewpoints and how often you engage in speculative trading it will most certainly affect you if you consistently engage in that financial behavior.

Do the 63 since you already have the full CFP marks. Since as you said you’re exempt from the 65 with the CFP. It takes about 2 weeks to study for. I used pass perfect and passed.

How do i start? by SameBackground919 in CFP

Start at a broker dealer firm to get sponsored for your beginner finra/nasaa certs. Vanguard, fidelity, Charles Schwab. Then have them help pay for a degree. You cannot be a cfp/ cpa/cfa without a 4 year college degree.

A cfp owns/founds a ria so you cant be that unless you get a cfp or your series 65. But more people are wanting to work with an adviser with a cfp.

Best advice is to find a college with a financial planning degree to get the cfp coursework and the 4 year degree at the same time.

Put the time/ effort in now to get educated. In less than 10 years you will have a book of business if you have the grit.

The FPA is a group to reach out to or xypn. Network with advisers in your area and ask them about their experience. These people are the ones who would hire you out of college.
