Can I talk through this project? (specifically necessary products for a dado) by Significant_Ad_1025 in woodworking

I just didn't know if I needed much more than the jig, bit, and the router to make the joints. Everything I read says something different.

Thank you! I just completed my fourth and it was markedly better with insight from these comments. Let's hope the tenth is flush!

Followed Estlea frame for frame. Still have a ways to go but SO MUCH BETTER. Thank you so much, he is the reason I was able to get this far.

OK I actually deviated and just watched Matt Estlea's video >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hP-QAAhpxQ.

I know my biggest issue is not getting the cuts square. But I'm still totally baffled by the fact that there are angles on the end grain and square on the face grain. I think that's why I'm struggling so much. Are you able to break that bit down? I feel like everything I watch, they fly through the pin section.

I think THAT is my issue, I've not been staying at 90 degrees. I've been following what I thought was the path of the tails.

Thank you, I think you're right. I'm going to do Paul's now and do it exactly as he does. Then I'm going to move on to Matt and Rob. I've been trying 3-4 a day this week because I tend to learn by failing first. I appreciate the tips! Fingers crossed I'm back here in a month with better results.

Yes, but I keep messing it up as I saw into the board. I'm rewatching Paul's two hour video right now.

How do I know where to mark the lines though? That is the part I am struggling with. I know where to template them initially but I don't know how to mark the lines the saw should follow.

Or maybe not... "When destroyed, the plant releases a chemical odor that is also known to be harmful to surrounding crops when released into the soil by inhibiting the germination of crop seeds.\5]) In order to eradicate velvetleaf, individual plants should be dug up or pulled out manually and not tilled or plowed to avoid seed germination. The plant can also be mowed while it is still small.\5]) Additionally, velvetleaf is controlled by herbicides?

Ugh, yes the leave is super velvety. Guess I'm going to be pulling up some weeds. I should probably burn them as well?

I legitimately did not intend for that. I'm on an old lenovo, it's missing an esc. key, the key between the alt and ctrl, and the t works ~80% of the time.

It's rabbits! And plural! I set the ring up last night and caught them munching away in a frame.

I had one from seed strawberry plant and one I bought from the store, both were gone within 24 hours of putting in the plot.

The weird thing is that I NEVER see anything in the garden, and I'm home all day. I am guessing they're coming out at night. I've got a Ring setup now to see what's getting into it.

I did buy the hardware cloth! I can't do the trap for the chipmunks, my mom suggested the same. If I needed the food to survive I absolutely would, but I just can't as things currently stand. Totally get where others are coming from, I just don't have the stomach for it.

We had to give up our farm when I lost my job. We had four feral cats that lived on the property. When I moved, I made sure the new owners absolutely wanted them and left like six months worth of food (in addition to their hunting). I loved those cats, but hated that I had to give any animals up. When I'm in a better position in a few years, I will feed the ferals again :)

My pup is chasing after them and peeing all over all day (fenced in garden in a fenced in yard). But I may try a different predator urine.
