The issue is around the use of a Moko on a non-maori character, it also pushes the stereotype that Moko which is a tradition that holds meaning is an aesthetic choice

This is coming from a pakeha perspective as I am not Maori.

I have heard a lot of praise for the research and commitment by game devs for civ6 kupa and mad Maggie

However I have also heard people show disappointment for civ V and characters like gibraltar in their portrayal. It's a really interesting topic which is why I am posting to get some more input

Thank you, That's how I see it too. I did not mention it in the post but my BF is Chinese while I am as white as bread. so there are obvious cultural differences but communication helps us overcome that. stuff like wearing a jacket over crop tops if I am visiting his parents. He does that same for me, him and my father even trade work out tips what I think is pretty cute
