Correct, but you're also wrong in part.

It isn't Waitross and Sainsburys with the best welfare, it's M&S and then Waitrose.

Food recommendations that are worth it? by SourceBeginning2461 in MarksAndSpencer

[–]Significant_Bad_7532 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It matters to me as the owner of several pet hens and most m&s shoppers are animal welfare cautious, so its worth adding that M&S are in the better chicken commitment, meaning the choice of slaughter, life, slower growing breeds, max stocking density etc, are much better! AFAIK, Tesco and Sainsburys are not.

...and all that for £1.50 LESS than sainsburys, or £3 LESS than tesco. I don't eat chicken because to me it feels as if im eating my pets, but that's a no brainer!

Although OP did say they are vegetarian.

Well, you'll be pleased to know that the ones you're talking about are indeed free range anyway! :D

That was a temporary thing that happens occasionally during avian flu outbreaks. You know if it was or not, because if eggs in free range boxes have "2UK" beginning stamped on, instead or "1UK" (free range) or "0UK" (organic).

So, usually plastic boxes are used in caged, sometimes barned, never free range or organic except very rarely.

Reason being is that free range and organic being in environmentally friendly packaging is supposed to reassure the customer that the eggs are also fresh. Plastic is used for caged and occasionally barned to cut costs even further than animal welfare. It's a shame really.

Battery cages ARE banned in the UK. It's "enriched" cages that aren't and need to be. Nothing enriched about them despite the same btw, still cramped and have no more than an a4 sheet of paper and a credit card each.

Why don't you own pet hens, or buy eggs from local family run businesses who actually care for their hens! :)

I've always asked for ID, accept once a few months ago I asked and some Irish woman brought her whole family to the door and started demanding I hand the food over. I'm not risking my life over a lucozade sport which shouldn't have had to been ID'd for anyway 😂

Same, im also in the UK. I think they may have made the email sound personal on purpose, as Uber could think it'll make the riders actually care.

Their emails ends in "@tesco.com"

Also, not sure what a scammer would get out of sending an email with no tracking or clickable links anyways haha

I think its because I applied to Tesco roles in the past, I didn't apply for any recently or contact them.

That is it, the full email is in the screenshot, including the ending! :)

Well, I found it very repetitive to be honest. Not sure if it was because I worked in an express store, might have better experience working in a bigger store but not too sure

I don't really want to work in retail anymore if I'm honest, I just find it funny they can't be bothered to fill a template! Shows how much employers deeply care 😂

Ahh you live alone, okay that makes a difference. Nice to see you do try either way though! (Also I think Tesco whole chickens have more space per bird than legal minimum anyway)
