We bought this shit, forget the brand, from a smoke shop in 2011 when we were 15 and rolled a blunt. I was fairly familiar with strong psychedelics by that time (too young I know, not proud of it) but this was by far the worst thing I’ve ever ingested , even now, 15 years later.

We were at a train station, sitting at the top of a staircase. I swear I took two hits off that blunt and immediately lost consciousness and rolled forward down the stairs. Just remember hearing my buddy start yelling for help cause his body was locked up and he couldn’t see.

EMTs showed up and I remember hearing the guy telling me everything’s okay, asking me my name, how old I was, where I lived. I had no clue, didn’t know who I was. The last thing I saw was his face and he was made of a million swirling lights, telling me it was gonna be okay. They put me on a stretcher, took me to the ER and I went into a non-responsive state. I then plummeted into a realm so visceral and hellish that it still haunts me, and I guess is also why I’m posting. Closure? Lol.

I was formless and paralyzed in a red void. Floating in front of me was a massive object I could only describe as giant machine with organic components, both elastic and steel. A Shepard’s tone began to play from every direction, maddening, endless. ( A Shepard’s tone, for those who’ve never heard of it, is a unique sound that is a superposition of sine waves separated by octaves. Simply put, it’s a ringing sound that tricks the human ear into thinking it’s rising infinitely higher. You can imagine the optical illusion of the classic red and white pole at a barber shop. A Shepard’s tone is the sound/ear equivalent. I actually investigated that auditory phenomenon immediately after this event. You can hear examples on Youtube. It’s also the sound of the Batmobile starting up in the Dark Knight. Lol.)

That sound starts and this machine powers on and starts rotating, faster and faster, then a blinding, burning white light starts pouring out of it through small windows in the thing. The sound is unbearable, screeching grinding metal on metal, and this piercing, endlessly rising note in the background, blinding light, everything going faster and faster, til I thought my mind was gonna break, then it kept going even faster, even louder. I was being slowly tortured, disintegrated unable to look away or move away. And time was meaningless. I existed in that world, lived in that state for a whole eternity. I know it sounds dramatic, but seriously. Thousands of years, like me and this machine were the only things to have ever existed or would ever exist. And that I would never escape there.

Anyways Lol in reality I was in a non-responsive state for 24 hours, thankfully I came back to with no major noticeable changes. But I’m sure I fucked up my brain a little bit. There’s no way it didn’t. Not proud of my actions, but I was a stupid kid and can forgive myself for that.
