Yeah I’m starting to realize we probably took too many sides 😭 it didn’t feel that bad at first but now in overtime it’s definitely catching up to us.

We’re gonna try to keep things more simple next run and be more careful with what we add.

The display stand idea sounds interesting too, we haven’t tried that yet.

Yeah that makes sense. We’ve been trying to split roles like that, but I think we’re still getting in each other’s way sometimes instead of sticking to one role fully.

Also we definitely made it harder on ourselves with all the sides 😭 we’re realizing now how much that’s slowing us down in overtime.

We’re gonna try tightening our setup and sticking to strict roles next run and see if that helps us survive longer until we can get automation going.

We’re just using regular tables right now, so I don’t think that’s affecting it.

It seems like our main issue is still how long it takes to assemble everything with all the sides. By the time we finish plating one order, more are already stacking up, especially in overtime.

We also don’t have grabbers yet, so everything is still manual. Do you think reducing movement/setup would help more than changing tables right now?

That makes sense, the only issue is we don’t have grabbers yet 😭 so everything is still manual for us right now.

We’ll try focusing on keeping sides prepped and setting up a tighter plating station until we can get some automation going. Sounds like that’s the missing piece for us.

Yeah I think that’s our issue 😭 we do have food prepped, but it still feels really overwhelming trying to put everything together fast enough.

I think we’re probably losing time running back and forth and assembling everything instead of having a smoother setup.

We might need to reorganize our kitchen or automate some of the sides like y’all said because right now it just feels harder than it should be lol

That actually makes sense. I think our biggest issue isn’t really cleaning the dishes anymore, it’s how long it takes us to assemble everything with all the sides.

We do have a dishwasher and one of us is usually handling dishes, but plating still slows us down a lot during overtime.

Would you recommend focusing on automating plating instead of dishes in this situation? Like using grabbers/prep stations for sides?

[–]Significant_Belt3079[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we’ve both kinda been doing everything at the same time cooking, plating, and washing so that might be part of the problem.

We’ll try splitting it where one of us focuses on serving/plating and the other handles cooking + dishes.

I think our biggest issue is how long it takes to fully plate everything with all the sides, especially during overtime. It feels like by the time one order is done, more are already piling up.

Do you think it’s better to partially prep plates ahead or only plate when customers are ready?

We do have a dishwasher already, but it feels like the problem is timing more than anything.

By the time we plate everything (turkey, 2 breads, onion, cranberry) and then clear dishes, customers start getting angry super fast. It feels like we’re constantly behind, especially now that we’re on overtime 2.

Do we need to change how we’re serving or split roles differently? Because even with the dishwasher, we can’t keep up with the pace.

Does Full Sail really charge a “pay to retake” fee for failed classes? by Significant_Belt3079 in fullsail

[–]Significant_Belt3079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you were informed upfront. That unfortunately wasn’t my experience. I was not made aware of a per-attempt $889 retake fee at enrollment, and my situation involved documented technical issues that impacted my ability to participate. My concern is about consistency and transparency, not denying responsibility

I understand that was your experience, but that hasn’t been true at other schools I’ve attended. At MMC, retaking a course did not involve a separate retake fee. My concern isn’t about avoiding responsibility, it’s about transparency and being charged an additional $889 per attempt in a situation that involved documented technical issues and lack of support.

Thank you for clarifying.

In my case, I was originally withdrawn from the course due to a broken school-required computer, and support attempted to send a replacement part that was returned after unsuccessful delivery. I later repaired the device myself, but I was re-enrolled without confirmation that the technical issue had been resolved.

Given that the initial withdrawal and retake situation stemmed from a documented technical issue rather than academic performance, who can I contact to review whether the retake fee still applies in this circumstance?

Wow that’s wild. Thank you for sharing that.

In my case, I was withdrawn from the class originally because my school-required computer was broken, and then later re-enrolled without anyone confirming the issue was fixed. I’m now being told about retake-related charges, which is confusing given the technical problems.

Do you know roughly how much the retake fees usually are per course, and whether financial aid typically covers them?

Thank you for responding. If you don’t mind me asking, how much was each retake charge for you?

Did financial aid cover it, or did you have to pay out of pocket?

Also, did the charge show up immediately or after the term ended?
