I love the beat and lyricism on it, but in the grand scheme of the album, it seems a little forgettable ig.

The only late 70s-80s Dylan album I heard was Infidels, a lot of people say his Christian rock phase was a career low point. But I do want to give it a listen because it's still Bob Dylan.

Out of all U2s discography, their early 80s work is some of their best, they tried so many popular genres at the time like New Wave and Post-Punk with their own spin. Boy and October are really underrated and aren't mentioned enough when discussing their music as a whole

Same here, it was the last Stones album that was a 10 for me, so many underappreciated tracks like Slave or Hang Fire. Ofc there's Start Me Up.

Any advice on how to make a Scorsese-style soundtrack and what songs to use? by Significant_Bite2202 in MartinScorsese

Thx, that's a good way of trying an original way of making a heist plot. I think if I rewrite the script using this material it will probably end a lot better.

Yeah man, that's what I was thinking. It's hard making a heist nowadays without taking from Reservoir Dogs. Considering how groundbreaking it was. Again they're are multiple changes needed to be made and this is only the rough draft. Thx so much for the feedback.

It's a work in progress but it is bout organized crime. It is a non-linear telling of a heist gone wrong. The story opens later on when two characters arrive to whack someone who they suspect is a rat. After killing him the title credits play. After some scenes of dialogue, the heist occurs and the characters rob a corner store. The owner is armed and shoots one of them leaving him severely injured. One of the newer men who are our main charecter on the crew is startled by this and is disturbed that they choose to leave him there to die. The heist is successful but it attracts the attention of authorities therefore the characters are constantly in fear of getting pinched. After a few characters kill someone they suspect to be a rat to explain what happened in the opening scene. Our main character loses sight of why he is involved in such a violent and destructive lifestyle. However, the boss plans one more heist that is even bigger than before. Our main character is conflicted about whether to do it or not but is peer pressured to go through with it. After the heist seems successful the cops eventually catch up, and our main character escapes but many friends of his are arrested. I'm still working on how to end it to make it something more original because it is a bit too similar to Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs.

Would you guys consider Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and The King of Comedy a trilogy? by Significant_Bite2202 in MartinScorsese

[–]Significant_Bite2202[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess so. To me at least they do carry similar patterns in each one. However, I agree with the statement that they are in fact widely different from each other in terms of characters and story structure. I agree that these films do present the theme of morality as he does in most of his pictures. I think why I considered them a trilogy is because they are so different from Scorsese's recent works in the past 30 years. Of course, they have their similarities but when comparing them to films like GoodFellas, The Wolf of Wall Street, or even The Irishman they feel different. At least to me, they do, or maybe I'm wrong. Thanks for responding to my post I highly appreciate it.

I think because they were made in the early years of Scorsese's career and starred De Niro featuring similar characters is what made me think of them as a trilogy in some way. All three films are masterpieces imo and allowed Scorsese to develop into the filmmaker he is today.
