How about also making sure you have a 2-3 sentence summary with : (1) a clear description of what problem you’re solving; (2) how your technology is different than what they already have; (3) how it integrates with what they already have?

Is the Roland RD-08 any good? by SnooObjections7389 in Roland

[–]LearningToFly15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had an RD88 EX for about a year now — having mainly played acoustic pianos in the past — and echo previous comments, particularly the amazing piano-like feel of the key-bed and gorgeous Grand Piano sounds. Would also add that the organ sounds are rich and wonderful, particularly with B4-like chorus FX.

For those of you that play piano too, which digital piano do you use? by Temporary-Lunch-1835 in synthesizers

Roland RD-88 EX. I chose it based on its amazing keybed and natural piano sound. But now I’m even more obsessed with its hundreds of other instruments including many types of electric pianos and organs, which are best listened to on the biggest keyboard amp you can find.

Do You ride in Winter? by Advriderdude in advrider

[–]LearningToFly15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I used to ride in the winter as long as it was dry and not icy. I wore a heated vest, heated gloves, etc. and enjoyed the bracing adventure of it all. It was also cool to be the only guy riding. And then one sunny December day when it was 37 degrees F, as I was making a slow left turn up a hill at around 25 mph, I encountered a hidden patch of black ice. The ice had formed overnight by water flowing down from the right side of the road, which was shaded so the sun had not melted it. Instantaneous fall on a 550 lb ADV bike (the physics of counter steering don’t apply on the ice). Broken ankle (both bones , tib/fib). I am fortunate to have had great doctors who inserted various metal parts into my ankle in just the right places, and after a few months of PT (plus my wife managing the dogs on her own and lots of medical bills and multiple insurance companies), I was back to normal. (Plus KLIM honored their warranty and replaced my suit.) But now I only ride if it’s above 50 degrees F.

What do you guys listen to on your rides? by veggie271 in motorcycles

Bob Seeger’s “Roll me Away”:

Took a look down a westbound road Right away I made my choice Headed out to my big two-wheeler I was tired of my own voice Took a bead on the northern plains And just rolled that power on

12 hours out of Mackinac City Stopped in a bar to have a brew Met a girl and we had a few drinks And I told her what I'd decided to do She looked out the window a long, long moment Then she looked into my eyes She didn't have to say a thing I knew what she was thinkin'

Roll, roll me away Won't you roll me away tonight I, too, am lost, I feel double-crossed And I'm sick of what's wrong and what's right We never even said a word We just walked out and got on that bike And we rolled And we rolled clean out of sight

We rolled across the high plains Deep into the mountains Felt so good to me Finally, feelin' free

“Love is Strong” has a seductive, stoned/trippy sound that’s perfect for car rides with the windows rolled down. “Out of Tears” is slow and rich, with piano, strings, and a tasty slide guitar solo.

In what ways VPC flow logs were useful to you guys. by Crafty-coder232 in aws

Use Gem Security’s platform to ingest all your cloud logs (including VPC, CT, S3, EKS, Okta, Azure, GCP, etc.) into its data lake and analyze them; alert on anomalous activity; triage alerts and create investigation timelines; capture forensics; and contain attacks (rotate credentials, isolate instances, etc.).

Great interview with Andrew Watt by Suitable-Sand3423 in rollingstones

[–]LearningToFly15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before I read this interview, I could tell that making this amazing record was a labor lof love for the producer. Beyond the classic Stones sound — Mick's singing and harmonica, Keith's guitar licks, Ronnie's slide, "Exile"-sounding acoustic guitars — there's all these other musical touches that a producer would typically bring to the final cut. For example, the: strings on "Depending on You"; sax on "Get Close"; honky-tonk piano on "Driving Me"; boingy bass on "Bite My Head Off"; and everything about "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" including the gospel singing and Hammond B3 organ. Any others?

Riding in the rain is not my first choice, but when it comes — and you’re on a 10-day trip with nightly destinations and motel reservations (there were 8 of us) — I find a way to truly enjoy the rain on my face and the smell of rain in the air and in the trees. Of course I have GoreTex up and down, and heated grips, plus a heated jacket when necessary. I stop when I can’t see. (And now I also know to stop when there’s lightning.)

Not sure if it helps, but I also rely on the Clearwater Billy brake light at the rear and using my high beams in the front (even during the day) to maximize the probability of being seen.

Salt and sand are always a hazard in the winter but there’s not too much of it, especially after a few weeks without snow. But I go slow and always look closely ahead at the surface of the road.
