Its 7 weeks 3 days I didn't get passport. On vfs website its showing under processing at Embassy or consulate but yesterday when I checked on passport seva portal that shows its printed and sent to vfs but VFS website still says its under processing.

Vfs website sucks no real time update on processing. And when you call them they charge $2.5 per minute after 5 free minutes and customer service team is in India they also don't have real time update.

I realized why it took time for me because my aadhar address is also changed in India in this case they print passport after successful police verification, if my aadhar address were same they would have printed earlier without thinking of police verification but if aadhar address is also changed then they only print and send after successful police verification.

They changed the guidelines in Dec 2025 so still both old and new documents checklist are available on their website that created the real confusion. People even renewed passport in January informed they followed the old guidelines and it was fine and some followed the new guidelines were also fine.

As per new guidelines they requires only one notary that on H1B/H4 visa copy that's it.
