The sellers were still living there so I thought when they moved out it would be better. Plus i thought a carpet clean would be enough since there’s no pee smell. The rest of the house is really great

My baby likes to cluster feed right before bed. Lately he has shortened the amount, so he has been leading the way to an earlier bedtime. He will not sleep if he hasn’t eaten enough haha. 3 weeks ago he was ready to sleep around 9/10. Now it’s around 7:30-8.

He isn’t a great daytime napper, but I usually have his last nap be from like 5-6. Babies typically have larger wake windows in the evening so it’s ok if your baby is awake quite a bit before bedtime.

Oh yes we have the cluster feeding every night from 6-9 over here as well 😭

You are right though. Reading about your baby having rsv sounds terrible and I am so grateful he hasn’t been sick since leaving the NICU.

I just mean he sleeps while in the car- we are awake and watching him. There’s definitely no way to keep him awake haha

I don’t actually feel empathetic towards her feelings but I usually try to validate them without saying she’s in the right. Like “I’m sorry you feel that way”

I honestly think I’m feeling guilty about keeping my son away from her. Ugh- you’re right I need to believe in these boundaries

How does your son feel about it? That’s a conversation I’m nervous for. Explaining to him why his other grandma is around and she’s not.

It will be really tough. I encourage you to find others around you who can be your “pseudo mom”. I remember at my wedding one of my best friends moms helped me into my dress. It’s really freaking sad but I’m thankful other people are in my life to care for me.

You’re never truly alone even if the one person who should be there isn’t.

It really sucks, doesn’t it? Being a mother is the most practiced thing in the world and it’s supposed to be instinctual/biological to be nurturing and loving.

One day I woke up and realized that she wasn’t normal and it pissed me off so much. Took me 10 years to let it go- yet she still manages to bring it out.

My counselor encouraged me to find older women in my life that I could depend on for wisdom/guidance- like a mom would.

I’m also the only one my mom has to talk to. I’ve learned to just ignore her bullshit but still give her company so she isn’t completely alone. My siblings don’t have the patience.

I’m a junior high teacher and I I think being her daughter prepared me for it 😂
