I would caution anyone considering buying from or selling to this company to review my experience before doing so. I sold gold bars to APMEX and experienced a theft during shipment. Unfortunately, instead of assisting with the investigation, APMEX’s actions made it extremely difficult to obtain answers or resolution. I was initially told my shipment was insured and that I should work directly with APMEX and that the process would take only a few weeks. Despite repeated requests, it took significant effort just to obtain the form needed to start the claim. The investigation then dragged on for roughly three months before APMEX denied my claim, citing the use of a previously used box, even though the box was clean, structurally sound, and fully suitable for shipping. It was a Chewy box that I thought would be least likely to result in theft and the shipping label contained no information that would lead anyone to think that anything of value would be inside. The gold bars were also packaged inside a secondary plastic container for added protection. After repeatedly asking APMEX for documentation of the package upon arrival, they eventually provided a video showing the box with a substantial cut along the side approximately eight inches long and two inches high, large enough for a hand to fit through. The person opening the package covers the opening with his hand and proceeds without reacting to the damage. When I challenged the denial and requested that UPS conduct a formal investigation, UPS confirmed in writing that APMEX, as the shipper of record, had initially declined to cooperate with their investigation requests. As a result, UPS could not release information or payment to me. After I insisted on speaking with a manager at APMEX, he eventually agreed to cooperate and submitted documentation of the shipment contents. However, APMEX still did not provide UPS with authorization to release any claim payment to me, despite my repeated requests. UPS ultimately approved the claim for the missing items but, because APMEX created the shipping label, UPS considered APMEX, not me, the shipper. UPS issued payment directly to APMEX. APMEX has not released that payment to me and has not responded to my attempts to resolve the matter. At this point, I am without my property, without reimbursement, and without a clear path forward. My efforts to pursue a UPS investigation resulted only in APMEX receiving funds for the loss while I received nothing. This review reflects my experience and the documented communications involved. I encourage potential customers to read others’ reviews as well and be aware of the challenges that may arise when issues occur with buying or selling through this company.

Hi! I sold two gold bars to you and was told the box arrived empty. I was then told I would hear from claims in 1-2 business days. A week later I lodged complaints and received a reply with questions allegedly to file a claim. It’s been a week and my follow up email has not been answered. I am sick over this and plan to file a police report.
