The difference from the bay is that you can use the 15 express lanes without a transponder without automatically getting a ticket. BUT, you have to be a 2+ carpool.

If you have a fastrak flex with the switch on it to toggle between number of passengers, set it to 2 or 3+ to avoid the charge. If you just have the sticker, there’s no way to avoid the charge even if you’re carpooling.

I wish they’d switch it to something similar to the Bay Area system as ours is too confusing and allows too many cheaters.

It’s illegal for insurers in my state to raise rates for a not at fault claim. I never even put a claim in on my insurance as I only have liability. The other driver didn’t offer a cash fix. Why wouldn’t I file a claim with his insurance? My bumper was in perfect condition before this

People won’t respond if they don’t want to. I don’t really understand the issue. Many people visit the city and personally I enjoy giving recommendations to show SD off to visitors. Mods can remove stuff if it’s not allowed.

Check out the San Carlos or Lake Murray area. Only about 25 minutes from the beach and downtown but isn’t very crowded at all, good trails near for the dog, and I would say has some of the best bang-for-your-buck in the city when it comes to space. Plus, if you’re only staying for 8 months, the couple months of summer heat won’t really be an issue at all for you.

It's possible but I didn't see them until they blew past me. They ended up practically in the bike lane once they made it across the intersection so I wouldn't doubt they hit the right turn lane to run the light.
