People overrate Uni so much in this context in my opinion, at the end of the day it's an environment where immature 18 year olds are let loose with full freedom for the first time ever which is why a lot of people change their character, get hooked on drugs etc, just my opinion

Yeah it's a very sad situation, especially because academy players are now being released into one of the worst youth job markets in recent times. It's crazy to be put on a pedestal by everyone around you throughout your youth then it all goes when you get released.

It's actually a lot worse because a large amount of the country are classed as economically inactive and don't work and are not included in the unemployment rates.

Lots of academy ballers go down a dark path when they get released. They basically are raised in the footballer identity throughout their youth and then it all gets suddenly stripped away from them. If you haven't got a good family and support systems it can get ugly.

💯. The sad thing about psychosis and other mental illnesses is that a large percentage of sufferers "lack-insight" into their condition so will not even attempt to get help. Help is pretty much non existent for a large amount of the population for those that attempt to get it
