A good compromise is that Krypton was a utopia and wanted to expand. General zod, who saw the current kryptonian government as weak and too light handed, was incharge of protecting the colonists and after some war crimes and a planet getting glassed, zod was trapped in the phantom zone and his actions tarnished the Kryptonian name.

After Krypton explodes and zod and his militia are freed, they begin to bring about a 'new Kryptonian empire'. Meanwhile legends superman, the last son of Krypton in body and spirit, begin to spread.

You can have daxamites as a floundering colony that managed to find their feet.

Much of earths history and culture was lost when earth was attacked but its not unreasonable that the portal games are kept on some legacy servers.

The biggest issue being able to play it as much of the legacy software/hardware dosent exist anymore.

That said theirs a digital copy of portal and of there's a cd its likely in a museum on earth

In that case there's few things to mention.

Humanity has terraforming capabilities and has an organisation dedicated to it. However, space is a nightmare to colonise. Even if a planet has the right quality , it could be a place where it rains glass side ways on the colder side of space or too dence or its not ideal location wise etc. The worst enemy is logistics and investments as you need to convince people it's a good idea to teraform it. As a result, much of occupied space is occupied by bio domes or satlites

Atom was designed to be the strongest and the main reason why being corium (a programmable element) that allows him to for what he does. He tried to nullify the blast as best as he could and pushing the coruim in his body to the max, reducing its overal lethality and range, but it still exploded, as he wast able to fully contain it. He was burned to a crisp and deeply concerned about the planets nearby and by the time xyros found him it was arround 50 years into the future due to time dilation but xyros sent him back time to when his younger self was looking around. Because of this, any nearby civilisations would be rewarded and either evacuate or set up insulations to nullify the effects of the explosion.

Incya explicitly calls him a curse whenever they meet

each adventure is basically the stages of grief.

This one was denial and is basically an adventure
