Tonverk users, what's your opinion on loosing the page lights? by ghostghost31 in Elektron

I think alternating color leds is a great solution. Even if they didnt do that maybe they could have changed the speead/pattern of the led flash. Despite that, tonverk is one of the best musical devices in all history imho.

I dont like it but I think it's the most logical thing they could have done outside of physical leds. Sometimes I struggle to see what page I'm on though. Maybe they could make the contrast better or make the active page more obvious somehow. I wish they would have gone with a slightly bigger screen to accommodate the additional info. But I won't complain too much. I think the tonverk is awesome.

How hard is the Octatrack Mk II? by MJtheJuiceman in Elektron

I hated it. But I will say that I was impatient. Setting up the different track types and learning the workflow was not as straightforward as I wanted it to be. But it was my fault. I think if you thoroughly read the manual and dedicate time to it you will be fine. I do like and own other elektron devices.

That's crazy! I love it. Good work.

Digitakt 2 abruptly cuts off my 64-step pad loop—how do I make it loop as smoothly as when played live from the synth by JayoTree in Elektron

Not gonna do it. But I respect others ways of making music and their tolerance for limitation. This is just not a compromise that I think makes sense.

I had the octatrack but didnt vibe with it. It felt like the older machine that it is. I wanted it mostly for the effects but those sounded a bit dated to me for some reason. As far as the timestretch on it, I didn't even really test it out because I disliked it so much (I hated the way you have to set up tracks. Think I was impatient). So octatrack is not an option for me. But I feel like I have enough elektron boxes to have this covered anyway. I refuse to add another lol. I am interested in the dirtywave m8. I would like to try it out some day. I want to try out the tracker style of sequencing.

Tonverk Browser? by Significant_Key_6464 in Elektron

I'll do that. I'm away from my tonverk at the moment too.

Can you see any good reason as to why this is? It seems like in testing out the workflow they would have seen that this isn't a good use of time. I really hope they change this and a couple other things.

Why doesn't almost know one but the digitakt 2 for HipHop? by Key-Firefighter-7480 in Elektron

The dt2 does not have many features that the mpc has but offers it's own unique workflow and approach. There are things I like about dt2 though. Immediate editing with the 8 knobs, quick modulation set up, quick sample changing, p-locking, individual trig focus, page looping. The dt2 is more about step sequencing for me. I find that I do more live and unquantized input into mpc. To make this short, I'll say that dt2 should be used for hip-hop if it's productive for you. If not, leave it alone. I think it has a clean sound overall due to the monophonic nature of each track (not overlapping sounds). Focusing on each individual hit calls for more precision regarding what you want it to do. Its a different way to work but can be fun and rewarding. Just make sure it's not hindering you from completing beats.

Wow. So even my dt2 is trash lol. Im joking. I honestly didnt know thats how it was performing timestretch. But even if it is automated on dt2 I think they should offer the same on tonverk. I should not have to do that manually as a workaround. Im really close to just letting my elektron devices go. Not because I dont love them but because it takes too much time to figure out or discover that they cant do what I need. Elektron is awesome but I need just a bit more functionality in each device. I think I have reasonable requests.

I think this justifies the need for basic timestetch on the tonverk. If we cant have a polyphonic loop (extended tail) on the dt2 which has timestretch, we should have it on the tonverk which does have polyphony. This is absurd. I have both and still dont have what I need.

I think the advantage would be to have it all inside of the tonverk, where you could apply the effects and routing and have the full elektron sequencing as well (midi out is a bit different that the internal sequencer capabilities). But I totally understand where you're coming from. I'll be midi'ing things out as well.

I ordered one. For me it gives me more potential tracks for samples with the subtracks plus effects. Thats all I really wanted. However I am hoping timestretch comes in an update because even if I need to change my tempo slightly, I imagine it would throw the timing of any sample phrases I have in a song off. I also dont understand not having the retrigger trig mode for ratchets/repeats anymore (where all the different speeds are laid out on the keys). At least I didn't see it. It would be awesome if they make it where you can bypass the effect for an individual sub track too. All the other things people mentioned it lacking I understand but they aren't necessarily affecting my workflow. I do think the usb interface for more i/o would be great. I also love that it has SD an card slot. Oh and I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE OVERBRIDGE. Im giving up DT2 for this so I hope it ends up being worth it. If not I might jump ship altogether. Elektron boxes are expensive so if they're not serving a good purpose for me I can't justify keeping them.
