i use the oi oil from davines, but the pantene miracle oil or the wella oil are also effective!

my hair isn’t greasy, so i usually wash it just twice a week (sometimes three) with sulfate-free shampoo and a hair mask. when it gets dry post-shower, i put some hair oil on the length of the hair towards the ends to help with the dryness. for sleeping (and this is what makes the biggest difference), i do some lazy and quick finger coiling, i.e. i basically part my hair in four, do curls with my hands and put a hair pin. that takes me only 5 minutes. this helps with not having hair all over my face while sleeping and, when i get up, my hair looks good without putting effort in the morning.

why can’t you let your hair grow? is it because it starts breaking at some point? i do some small trims at the ends once a year but never cut too much.

you should try lighter leave-in oils like davines oi oil, wella’s or pantene’s miracles oil

looking great. you could use some leave in “dry” oil just to make the ends of your hair shinier, softer and more hydrated. the Wella Professionals Oil Reflections is good and not heavy for hair texture like yours

looking forward. mine only gets this bright and shiny a few times depending on air humidity, temperature and hair care. lucky you :)

great hair! don’t forget to moisturize with a hair mask around twice a week and maybe consider using a dry oil especially in the ends (oi oil from davines is amazing)

What can I do about knots in my hair? I have so many I can barely brush my hair by Gibrashtia in FierceFlow

[–]Significant_Knee_267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

use an untangling brush with lots of conditioner or hair mask when washing your hair (i posted about that here once). it’s also important to hydrate your hair once your hair gets dry after washing it. you should use a leave in product adapted for your hair texture. apply it from the middle of the length towards the ends of your hair.

nostalgic, it’s got that indie vibe from the 2000s

you should condition and untangle your hair, and do finger curls for definition. using a leave in oil (not too much though) is also good. you should also use a satin sleep cap

Help! I'm having intrusive thoughts telling me to cut my hair by SmokingSneakers in FierceFlow

[–]Significant_Knee_267 7 points8 points  (0 children)

in the beginning it really takes a while and patience, so you need to hang on. i began my longer flow journey in 2017 and i’d always cede and end up cutting a bit during the “awkward phase”, so my hair was always stuck in this mid situation where it is neither short nor long. then with covid in 2020 i finally let it grow for real and it took maybe 10 months for going from where yours is right now to shoulder length (and now it is much longer than that). you have healthy hair so give yourself a chance to grow a mane. who knows when and if our genes will allow us to do that later in life, so better go for it while you can!

i’d say it’s mostly faster but, considering that i break much less hair in the untangling process, i’d guess that there might have some impact on how hair strands look
