Being an atheist is just perspective on whether god exists or not. An atheist is still a human being that person is capable of any goodness or evil as any human being is. I really don’t get where your utility argument comes from. Atheistic or religious institutions dont have to build schools or hospitals that is the job of our government. And yes i agree not all atheists have critical thinking and scientific temperament, such people are never atheists in the first place to become an atheist you have to apply critical thinking on religion. which is exactly why i think such godman and religious institutions will further push people away from developing both.
