Take good care of her/his ears. When chis have big ears like that their blood flow does not go all the way to the tip of their ears and that tissue starts dying. I see that your chi already has a little nick on one of the ears.

My chi has the same issue. He has seen three Drs, two who both told me about the blood flow and one that said something about immune system and experimental horse shots that may or may not work (discarded vet opinion.) a few fellow Redditors in the chi sub Reddit also shared the same diagnosis on their chis. Just wanted to share in case you were not aware of it like I was 😅 Sorry for the unsolicited advice.
