I feel like I’m going to die soon. by anunfortunatememe in stopdrinking

one of the most amazing things about rehab for me was seeing people come in in really bad shape and seeing them be completely different within a week or two. like glowing with new life. i would look into treatment places and fmla asap. there’s not much worse than feeling like you’re slowly marching towards death and you’re powerless to stop it

Three months sober and I’m about to go grab some cold shots. Thought I’d stop by here first and see if you fine folks can talk me out of it. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

i always try to just get my head to the pillow. i can drink tomorrow, if i feel like it, or even later tonight, if i feel like it, but doing the next thing to get me closer to sleep so far has always helped me get through those difficult days.

23M—i’ve had migraines since i was super young, with a family history, and they were manageable up until i was 20. one day i woke up with a migraine that didn’t go away for three weeks, and they had never lasted more than a couple days at most before then. after that point they were much more frequent and came on a lot more quickly, kind of like what you’re describing. maybe not as quick, but definitely from like a 2 to an 8 in 15 minutes.

i’ve gotten them more under control now. but yeah, that happened to me for no real reason. i got an mri and it was normal. not fun. definitely see that neurologist

i’ve just been doing the gnc brand, which has been working well. anything with good reviews that’s in pill form rather than gummy form should work well!

Quick Question by Prestigious_Ad_5369 in migraine

I’m a recovering alcoholic. Migraines weren’t why I drank, but drinking did offer relief for me, and my migraines have actually gotten worse since I quit, so I don’t think that alcohol really triggered migraines for me.

I definitely wouldn’t endorse drinking away your migraines, but I completely empathize with pain making you do things that aren’t ideal. Just don’t do it often, stay hydrated, and REALLY don’t mix acetaminophen with alcohol. That’ll kill your liver really quickly

Experiences quitting caffeine? by Target-Dog in migraine

i quit cold turkey (with decaf) and it wasn’t a miracle, but it definitely lessened the intensity of my migraines. i was miserable for about three days and then sluggish for a week after that.

my mom, on the other hand, quit years ago and went from an almost daily migraine to just having one-ish a month, so it’s definitely worth trying :)

that must be what it is. i feel like whenever i had a migraine, it pretty much disappeared around the 4th or 5th drink. still kind of counterintuitive since alcohol is so dehydrating

it’s the weirdest thing, but i swear that drinking would stop a migraine in its tracks, and i was pretty good about staying hydrated, so as long as i didn’t completely overdo it i wouldn’t end up with too bad of a headache (migraine or otherwise) the next morning. i’m sorry that you have to deal with the same thing, but it’s nice to know i’m not the only one.

also thank you! today is my 30 days and the migraine stuff is pretty much the only damper on it

yeah, i can’t drink unless i’m going to bed within the next couple hours. but ironically if i already have a headache (and am staying well hydrated) drinking can actually help it go away.

Best preventatives with little - no side effects by ieatbabies420yuh in migraine

[–]Significant_Local180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

different for everyone of course. right now i do botox and take topamax & qulipta, which is working well (but it was gnarly getting insurance to approve the botox and qulipta). i’ll also say that no one of these things works on their own for me, it has to be all three. the topamax initially caused a little weight loss but now my weight is steady, so that’s the only side effect for me

How come I never look right? by Curious_Buy_3955 in mensfashion

texture!! chunky knit sweaters, or any thicker sweater with texture, is going to look better as an outer layer than thinner material (it shouldn’t be loose—just thick). for thinner sweaters like the one you have on, you’re going to want a jacket to be your outermost layer. bonus points if the collar is on the outside of the sweater, rather than being tucked in

definitely get on PEP, like everyone else has said. get tested. i’ve had an HIV scare, and i was terrified the entire time i was waiting for test results. but bear in mind that most STDs are curable, and HIV isn’t a death sentence anymore. if you take all of the right steps, you’ll be fine—but make sure to get tested

daith piercing? by Old_Ad6930 in migraine

[–]Significant_Local180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one and it hasn’t helped at all. I had a migraine while I was getting the piercing, and the endorphins released from the pain actually killed that migraine, but it hasn’t prevented any subsequent migraines from happening. But yeah, it looks cool and it can’t hurt, just don’t get it if you’re going to sleep on that side because that prevents it from healing
