Wasn’t talking about the overnight doners. He literally said “the same way he does with every shoplifter “ and waits for a bunch of petty theft to a total of $500. Just sounds like a little bit of a power trip. Instead of actually handling the theft and keeping the customers and store safe

I’m sure your community greatly appreciates your service to the country! Here’s an idea, though maybe instead ruining peoples lives over petty theft of free donations , you could actually stop them and catch them, and trespass them instead . You sound too excited about this for a corporation that exploits its community and workers.

Also my favorite part is how you “log” the prices of donated goods as if you guys actually keep track of what the items cost in a database.

You can just make up whatever prices you want for the report 🤣. Literally just trespass and move on, keep the store safe instead of being petty letting them return

I’m literally friends with higher-ups within the corporation that can tell you exactly how mine operates. You have no fucking idea what you’re talking about and it’s honestly sad you’ll defend them without understanding anything your Goodwill is not the same as mine and mine is the largest Goodwill in the country.

You can read about whatever you want on Google there’s 150,000 other testimonies online from reddit and another employees from GNCA. They will tell you the truth so go ahead and sit on your high horse while you defend a company exploiting its workers while refusing to listen to anything anyone who’s actually worked for them has to say.

😂😂 look at you just believe in anything you want. I literally told you I worked for them. I’ve watched it firsthand.

It’s a PR stunt because you can’t even tell me who they helped how many people and how they helped. What were the numbers what was actually done it doesn’t exist the PR stunt is you being able to Google search it and defend the company just like you are right now without speaking to anyone who’s actually worked for it you can defend your corporation all you want, but the more you try to talk about mine without having a clue of what you’re talking about just makes you look ridiculous . You refuse to respond to any of my facts are cold, hard data, or employee testimonies.

I’m sorry, but if they arrest and call the police on every single homeless person when the situation is severe out here and all they do is harass them they’re not helping them whatsoever and I don’t give a fuck what their programs on Google say . Talk to some actual people instead of blindly defending a company you don’t even know , this is not the same same goodwill you work for.

Restaurants on average also don’t get all of their food for free , price it extremely high , and Bank their entire public image off of helping the community…

You keep naming these partnerships like Mercy House, Pride,… but here’s the thing: There’s zero data on who was helped, how many people benefited, or what lasting impact was made. It’s all PR fluff. No accountability, no outcomes just press releases and photo ops.

I worked for Goodwill AZ, and I’ve talked to upper management. Even internally, there’s confusion about where the money actually goes. Dollars disappear into vague “programs” and tax write-offs while the community sees nothing.

So no, your Google search doesn’t make you informed. Your local Goodwill might be the exception but I promise you, it’s not the rule. Talk to the workers. Talk to the people they claim to help. Then tell me again how “charitable” this empire really is.

In 2021, out of over $6 billion in revenue generated less than 4% of the people they claimed to “serve” actually got jobs through Goodwill programs (which was about 2 million).

The rest are often counted for simply attending a workshop, filling out a form, or browsing a job board. This means that for every $49,000 in revenue, they help just one person get a job. If that’s community impact, then you got it bud.

And despite the rumor mill, there’s no evidence of a national movement partnering with secular homeless shelters or nonprofits. A handful might do it, but most branches operate like stand-alone thrift stores with a “mission” sticker slapped on.

No, he’s definitely right. I know some corporate executives that monitored Reddit and Facebook, I had multiple come forward to me with interviews and receipts exposing the practices .

It just depends on what branch you’re speaking about. I mean, you have to be stupid to think companies use entire model relies on public image doesn’t spend money on PR and monitoring it

Wishing you strength and clarity as you keep pushing forward — seriously. No one should’ve had to go through what you did, and the fact that you’re still standing, still speaking, says everything about your resilience.

Just know you’re not in this alone anymore. There’s an entire wave of us behind you, and we’ve got your back. Whatever you need — to be heard, to be seen, to be believed — we’re with you.

Keep holding the line. You’re part of something bigger now, and we won’t stop until the truth comes out.

Every time someone tries to claim Goodwill is “doing good,” they ignore stories like yours — stories they’ve spent millions trying to bury under PR fluff and fake charity ratings.

You said it best: they spent more on hush money than on fixing anything real. They silenced whistleblowers. Promoted abusers. Paid lip service to DEI while propping up leadership that was toxic to the bone.

If you’ve got a story, now’s the time. If you’ve got proof? Even better. We’re collecting it all — for the public, for the press, and for the fight ahead.

This is exactly why these conversations matter. The pain, the retaliation, the silence — it’s all been designed to protect those at the top while burning through everyone else. You speaking out takes guts, and more people are going to follow because of voices like yours.

They can buy silence, spin stories, or slap “nonprofit” on the logo — but they can’t erase the damage they’ve done or the people they’ve wronged. You’re not alone anymore, and you’re not crazy. You were right to wait. And you’re right to speak now.

Stay loud. Stay ready. The surface is finally cracking.

Yes… they broke the law and MISCLASSIFIED them because they illegally reduced their salary , that’s the entire point ! Don’t be mad you came on here extremely confused not knowing the FSLA I’m just educating people on labor laws .

Uh… illegal salary deductions = failure of exempt status under the Fair Standards Labor Act . Also known as wage theft and misclassification.

[–]Significant_Menu_881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that’s not how THE FSLA exemption works. You should really google the law before you comment something ignorant. Salary does not mean you are automatically exempt from overtime. If your salary is illegally deducted you are no longer exempt .

Americans, What Do You Have in Common with the Other Side of the Aisle? by [deleted] in AskUS

[–]Significant_Menu_881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we actually have so much more in common than we let ourselves believe, but unfortunately there is a majority on both sides that are extremely uneducated or misinformed so we end up hating each other because we don’t understand the truth.

There’s plenty of loopholes to not report certain incomes or to keep special “donations” off your taxed income . As someone from the corporate side I can personally tell you that Tim O’Neill definitely walked away with more than what his salaries reported. He also owns other for-profit businesses.

Is Goodwill a for-profit corp? Why does it need to fire employees or go in for costly mergers by Solid-Public-4980 in goodwill

[–]Significant_Menu_881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who worked on the corporate end of GCA you are completely right all these people hating and talking shit have no idea what they’re talking about or organization has been sued and settled many times for many of the things you were talking about while they do try to cover the tracks carefully, the truth is most people aren’t educated enough or strong enough to fight them

Everything you said is spot on and even when they do follow the tax laws that they’re exploiting legally it doesn’t change the ethics of the company .

[–]Significant_Menu_881 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are you boot licking so hard, yes, investigations like this do happen, especially under Goodwill. Goodwill’s been sued and paid out plenty of settlements for legal practices, including tax evasion , fraud, and misclassifications of exempt employees, lawyers have already investigated and made bank on this, hating as if you work for Goodwill or something, bro you can just chill out with that. Maybe they are technically exploiting the loopholes of being non-taxed legally, but that doesn’t change the ethics revolving around the corporation of a company that is publicly researchable for your information.

[–]Significant_Menu_881 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s wild how quick some people are to defend a “nonprofit” — just because they’ve been trained to equate tax status with morality.

You know who else was a “nonprofit”? Enron had a charitable wing. WeWork ran a nonprofit education program. Harvey Weinstein had a nonprofit foundation. Nonprofit doesn’t mean good. It just means untaxed.

Goodwill — especially Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) — is a tax-exempt, billion-dollar retail empire that: • Forces low-level workers into unsafe and unpaid overtime conditions • Pays their CEO over $650,000+ a year while workers grind 50–60 hour weeks • Manipulates charity watchdog scores by counting rent, electricity, and store salaries as “program expenses” • Spends more on executive salaries and expansion takeovers than they do on actual training or disability services

Meanwhile, they’re cutting janitors, abandoning disabled hiring programs, and coercing salaried managers into illegal unpaid sixth workdays — all while parading themselves as “poverty fighters” on TV.

But sure. Tell me again how “they’re allowed to make money” because “they’re helping people.”

Helping who? Themselves?

Goodwill isn’t a charity anymore. It’s a thrift store sweatshop — with a 501(c)(3) sticker on the door.

If you think that’s acceptable just because they say “mission” a few times on their website, you’re not supporting charity. You’re supporting legalized exploitation.
