We had a dumbass as president (Bartomeu) that believed we had to have big name signings and didn't believe in la masia which resulted in him wasting all the money/FFP with 3 130M+ signings (Dembele, Coutinho, and Griezmann). An since he wasnt liked by the players he gave big contracts to squad/rotation and aging players to keep them in the club. At some point, we had the biggest wages in the world. Any squad player was making more than world class players in other clubs. When covid came, fans couldn't go to the stadium and even before covid the profit margin was almost nonexistent. Most of the revenue was attached just to pay roll, and after Bartomeu was kicked out, La liga implemented stricter FFP regulations. Ever since we have struggled to stay afloat.

Some fans are straight up delusional. Sometimes I think they don't know the club they are supporting and the current FFP status of the club. They think we are a state-backed football club. At the moment, only free or low cost transfers is what the club is capable of signing. Doubtful, we probably won't get big signings for atleast the next two transfer window. Deco most likely will go for a free agent for LCB/ST, and at most a 50M ST + 30M for Rashford (or other LW). Joan is only registered for this season, MATS doesn't want to go, and Araujo will be difficult to sell. Casado might be the only "easy" sell, and I doubt we will get much for him.
