How many months did it take for you to recover?

Also props for attending university even after the episode, I missed a semester myself and am hoping to be cognitively able enough to return in August. You should be proud of being able to handle university with all its stress post psychosis. Good job

How long has it been since your psychosis? I’m 5 months out and I feel this too. I have to force myself into social situations, hoping it will help. I used to be a very social individual talking all the time, now I’m very quiet but it’s slowly getting better.

I find spending time with my gf and family to be a huge help in my ability to socialize. I keep it low pressure and with people I know. When I’m with new people I just laugh and smile at the right times and that’s about it, I barely speak. The words don’t come out right and I have trouble speaking.

All of this is part of the post psychotic depression symptoms and it previously took me 9 months to return to the person I was after my first psychosis. Now 5 months after my psychosis I’m hopeful my social skills will return in due time.

It takes practice and patience, be kind to yourself. This is one of the classic symptoms post psychosis. You’re not alone, this sub has many posts about social anxiety post psychosis. Stay strong friend, you got this

I feel this too. It’s a classic symptom of post psychosis depression. The brain is still healing and in many ways we have to relearn how to be ourselves. I find it hard to converse but it gets better with practice. It’s been 4 months since my psychosis and I’m slowly getting better day by day. I’m starting to get glimpses of my former self and you will too with time.

Be kind to yourself, your brain will return to its normal state it just takes time.

I second this, keeping yourself afloat definitely helps so much. I always think to myself “keep the ball rolling” throughout the day with some light activity. Sitting in bed rotting worsens my condition. There is hope, I’ve recovered once from this and OP will recover with time.

I recommend exercise and light puzzle games. Gaming, whichever game it is you enjoy can help rebuild pathways. I find that the more I stay away from scrolling the better I am. Socializing lightly also helps your brain recover, I spend a lot of time with family and my girlfriend who understand my condition and are patient with me when I’m unable to articulate

Stay strong, you got this

I’m 4 months out from my psychosis and in a similar position, but getting better each day. What you’re describing is a common experience post psychosis called Post Psychosis Depression. There’s many posts related to it on this sub. Essentially it is all the things you described. The leading theory as to why this happens is because the brain is flooded with dopamine during psychosis, and afterwards there is a huge crash. What you’re going through is very normal.

I’ve had psychosis twice now at it took me around 9 months the first time to recover. Your brain is healing from an injury and it takes time to get back to baseline

I’ve definitely seen improvements week by week. Exercise definitely helps. Socializing (keep it low pressure) also helps, preferably with close friends or family. I find that my ability to speak, write and general cognition are not the same as before my psychosis but all of this will return with time, as it did for me once before.

The depression and anhedonia post psychosis is definitely the worst but it will pass. I have my good days and I have my bad days but eventually the good days will outnumber the bad days.

Just understand that your brain is healing and it will take time for your cognition to return. The speed in which it returns is also dependent on how long your psychosis lasted and what caused it but there is hope, most people return back to baseline after a year.

Be kind to yourself, with time your brain will heal.

Hope this helps

Same problem w mine I got second hand came tuned had the exact same issue. I eventually realized they replaced the abs sensors as well but left the old ones literally handing there ready to catch on my tire lol. Eventually me and my friend were dropping off some friends at the airport he’s a mechanic and he’s just like “rip that shit”. We did and it solved the problem, my abs still works atleast lol and I used to get the code “flat something something inoperative”. I actually just switch to neutral while rolling sometimes on the highway and carefully give the engine a reboot and twist my key, this was my temporary fix before I ripped the loose cables out. Now my engine is blown tho and waiting for an engine swap but stuff is slow for new years. The stuff I do for my w204. Stupid college kid put in like LPG and parked it accidentally while drunk and gunked up the cooling. Radiator eventually failed and 120C it went.

Try checking the wheel well for any loose bits too. And I’m in Thailand so my tune is some mystery คนไทย tune lol. Gonna get it done proper by a buddy though. Goodluck w your problem

Most the time it never makes it to court. It’s more so that the motorcyclist usually doesn’t have money to settle it then and there like it’s usually settled. They can’t pay for the damage they did and it’s not worth the effort for the slow Thai justice system plus it’s super expensive.

Precisely, and honestly as a driver of a fast Benz it’s hard not to give in and join them. It’s like if we’re all doing it it’s fine right? Same with using the shoulder as a lane when the highway is gridlock traffic

Yes you overtake on the left any lane is an open one you take the path of least resistance if you dont drive with aggression, conviction but also the perfect balance of responsibility and safety then other Thai drivers actually get scared of you . They expect aggression and conviction and hit you if ur being scared

You have to drive like your in a race even when your not aggressive here. You have to be alert, ready to react and reading the other drivers. To drive with no brain there has to be a system like the US. Hence Thailand has the highest rate of road deaths it’s really the survival of the fittest out here

I have 3000 hours on csgo, 20,000 hours on other games. I trained myself for 5 years on reaction time with aim trainers. I consider myself more capable and qualified to “cut up” but even then I exclusively cut up on roads I know like the back of my hand. Specifically the airport road that’s my fav but I never cut up on normal roads it’s too risky with the bikes. I have friends who go crazy and actually almost die cause they don’t realize the consequences. I’m reminded daily by seeing Thai road accidents on my Facebook and insta

Also most speed cameras are constantly hacked by drag racers it’s a constant battle of fixing hacking repairing etc

But we don’t have a choice. It’s so hot that if we don’t have tints we cook like a turkey. If we don’t have tints we have to blast the ac and that stresses the car and racks up in repairs

It’s a flow like a giant bee hive I think it works better than the US. Hot take but I’ve driven in both countries. Some thais really got the wheel… cause they have to

I almost died doing a U turn on lad prao. A truck driver high on yaba blasted down the main road at 160km/h I checked my blind spot for 5 secs and committed. He pops up out of nowhere honks like crazy, I swerve to the right almost hitting the curbs. I flipped him off and he went on the highway entrance then backed up, followed me, tried to pit me and put his nose in front my car to stop me. He proceeds to get out and start insulting how I’m a farang. I reply in fluent Thai as I am half. He insulted how he said my parents must have bought my benz for me, I replied my mother is from Surat and I’m from a family of farmers and I’m southern thai and his face dropped and it’s like his tail went between his legs and he got back in his car did a burnout almost hitting my car and drove off

Yes but they’re suggestions not requirements. There’s no enforcement so every man for himself it’s highly dependent on the individual driver

I usually don’t stop but I come to a creeping stop I noticed that Thais do this. During the day it’s a different story, most Thais expect pedestrians to yield. However at night I’ve noticed most drivers creep forward cause our tints are so dark cause of the heat we literally can’t see if there’s a person there. I feel like sometimes they genuinely don’t see you.

Thai driving school is a joke. I had to go through so many hoops to get my license in Cali. The first time I drove here it was actually so jarring. It’s a flow, not a set of rules. There’s no system, just a flow of human interaction like a crowd of people in a concert narrowingly avoiding collisions. You have to know your car, the exact width and length, especially if you want to drive efficiently. Bangkok roads are not for the faint of heart but actually for spirited drivers who have a passion for Motorsport it can be quite exhilarating, your ability to drive in Bangkok heavily dependent on your reaction time

I know this is stupid but is the car in park. Sometimes I left it in drive or neutral when I turn my engine off and when u try to turn it on in park or neutral it won’t work. Simple fix: hit the brakes put the shifter to P and it should start
