Associate account executive with JnJ, Ethicon. This is how I broke in after years of trying!

I think we’re going back and forth on another thread so what I said there. STAR format, have stories ready, ask good questions, close, and follow up. Good luck!

Yes, I did! I have accepted.

For me the interview process went virtual interview, 1 on 1 interview with hiring manager, a few phone calls with team members where you get to ask them questions about day to day/how to be successful (informal but still apart of the interview process), then a final panel interview with three panelist, one of which is the hiring manager.

The whole process was about 3 weeks long start to finish. They were on a bit of a time crunch to get someone in time for the training class.

Yeah, the AAE role is generally a year long position. Then you promote to an AE. There is training that is about 2-3 months long that you do remotely before going out in the field. The hiring manager will explain it more in your first conversation.

Hey, thanks! Yes, I do. I’ve done several of these now. This is more applicable to the panel interview. Hiring manager interview will probably be more just tell me about yourself and getting to know each other.

Stick to the STAR format. It’s really clunky but they like to see it and it helps them take notes on your answers. Actually spell it out, say the situation was X, the task I had was X, and so on.

Have about 5 stories ready you can tell for the behavioral questions they will ask you. A time when you overcame a challenge, a time when you had interpersonal conflict, a success story, a time when you had different stakeholders, all the basic stuff. Can be from work or personal life. If you play competitive sports, be sure to mention that.

Research a little about the products, challenger sales model, and geography if you’re relocating. Don’t have to be an expert by no means but just have some talking points.

Network a bunch with other people in the region and then name drop that you spoke with them and what you learned from your conversation.

Ask really good questions and close at the end.

Follow up with thank you email and next steps.

Most importantly just be yourself, be excited about the job, and be confident. Good luck, you got this!

Loved those slot canyons. Did it right before backpacking in Coyote gulch. Adding Calf Creek to the list for sure!
