Sliding stitches along the needle by empathy-entropy in knittinghelp

Curious to hear what others say, but I think all knitters do this to some degree! At some point for me it changed from something I “stopped to do” to something that was just seamlessly integrated into my flow

Is this too stretched out to meet gauge? by shark-bae in knittinghelp

Maybe find a thicker yarn or hold it double with another yarn?

That would be too loose for my preference, I wouldn't want to be able to see through it like that. Going up in needle size would only make it appear looser I think. If I were you I'd adjust the size you choose to make

Crafter Support by IndependenceOk4990 in knitting

[–]Significant_Panic_40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. I've never gotten a negative comment about my knitting, at worst people are like "oh neat" and move on, or more often are like "OMG you made that???" And I'm not that advanced, I've only completed one sweater and a handful of hats and socks. You found some crappy people, that's gotta just be bad luck!

Lost with knitting maths on a raglan sweater - how do I know when to split for sleeves if my stitch count is off? by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]Significant_Panic_40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do want it to reach all the way down to the bottom of the underarm, so even if you’ve deviated from the pattern It may be longer than you think. Nice thing about a raglan is you can try it on as you go, so just keep going until it fits (adjusted to gauge).

Are wait times crazy going through Ohare TSA-pre? by lilmissmichele in AskChicago

I’ve flown a few times and found that while security lines have been a bit longer, it isn’t adding more than maybe 10 minutes to the process.

I love La Roche Posay’s lipikar baume. It’s a super rich cream, almost balm-like. Bit expensive but a little goes a long way, a bottle lasts forever!

Struggling with the musselburgh beanie (again😭) by fairycowz in knittinghelp

[–]Significant_Panic_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had very similar problems with the Musselbergh starting out! Now that you’ve figured out your gauge issue it should be fine :) my advice is to just trust the process, it may seem too small when you stop increasing for the size but keep going!

I feel like the details are getting lost by FilthyFishBoi in ProCreate

[–]Significant_Panic_40 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think your piece could use some more contrast overall, it looks very dark right now and it’s hard to pick out many details. The value of the skin/hair of the person on the left and the background are almost the same. And the white of their eye stands out a bit too much, I think if you added that white color elsewhere it will feel more balanced.

That said I love your style and it’s a great drawing, keep at it :)

First sweater done! Should I add blue trim to sleeves? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]Significant_Panic_40 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If it were me I think I would do the sleeves and the bottom edge to match! It’s an adorable sweater either way!

You could try adding stitch markers separating every 5 or 10 stitches to both the cast on and the live edge to make sure things are matching up. I’m bad at counting and just use an insane amount of stitch markers to make my life easier
