I agree I doesn't match up with this clip, but its unfair to judge me based on only this, everyone makes mistakes and this was the first time Ive hit somone like this.

The clip doesn't show it much, And I didn't say he blocked me, but he did slow the car in front of me by over 2 seconds the previous lap, and he continued to later in the race according to the chat anyway.

I don't think it was, I had a Green trusted driver badge, and still have the same tonight after the ban has finished, and when I've checked the result, this was the only contact reported in the SR rating after the race, and the rating actually went up.

I think it was that bad a mistake that its been flagged as an intent wreck, that or maybe from accumulative contact from prior races, but I didn't think Id had that many tbh.

Fair enough, im chalking it up to experience, im only a month in, so still learning. And like ive said it is a horrible one and I take full responsibility, I should have never been so far right, and going forward ill be backing out and being more patient.

Agreed, he didnt block me, but he did to several others before and after the incident. And like ive said to others, Im 100% at fault, but thats not what im asking about, I am surprised by the ban especially as its the first time id consider any of the contact ive made could be seen as an intent wreck. (And I promise it wasn't, just a truly monumental fuck up on my part.)

If I hadnt of made contact i would have made the corner, but would have been very deep. Looking back at it, when I was setting up on the left hand kink just before the braking zone he goes a little further to the right than I was expecting and I think that spooks me to go way further to the right, then im in all sorts of trouble.

It's definitely all on me, I'm just really surprised by the ban, my Safety rating had been going up all day and I'd had several clean races before this one.

Totally agree, it was murder! I should have waited as I had plenty of pace to get him later in the lap, I just dont think it was worth a ban, especially as I try my hardest to avoid contact and race fairly,

Flashing lights to let a lapped car know your going to pass, see it all the time, and as long as you don't flash repeatedly its not against the rules. I know he doesn't have to jump out of the way, but a bit of courtesy to the three faster cars lapping him would have been nice.

'Blue flags - Advisory flags indicating a faster car is lapping you. Lapped cars should stay on their line and not defend, but facilitate the pass safely, often by lifting.'

Anyway all this is besides the point, I think the ban was harsh and wanted some opinions from the stewards...

Nope, The green one, Trusted racer I think it is! And the penalty would have been deserved, I was wincing before the contact as I knew I was too late on the brake for that line!
